At Henry and Vienna's diner, Henry asks Winston what was wrong with the crowd Noah used to hang with. Winston brushes this aside, telling Henry not worry, and that he feels Maddie has been a good influence on Noah. Luke shows up, Henry asks if he and Winston had met- Winston very abruptly excuses himself to make a phone call. Henry wants to know what that was all about and Luke tells him that he must rub the colonel the wrong way.

Henry goes over to refill Winston's coffee and mentions Katie's upcoming bridal shower. He seems to be suspicious when Henry states that Katie (a woman) is his best friend. He asks Henry to suggest a healthy choice off the menu, as he is watching his weight. Henry remarks that he seems to be in good shape, which draws another suspicious look from Winston. He tells Henry that he needs to stay in shape so that when the day comes that Noah gets married he can wear his dress blues. He goes on to say that when they moved to town he and Noah didn't know anyone, and that he is so glad that his son has Maddie. Henry, who is now suspicious himself of Winston's motives, points out that Noah does have other friends, like Luke and that the three are very close. Henry asks Winston if Luke did something to offend him. Winston tells Henry that he knows Luke's "type" and doesn't want his son to have anything to do with him. He then leaves rather abruptly.

In Olde Town Noah tells Maddie that his father paid for all their new bedroom furniture. Maddie questions Winston's quick approval of she and Noah's living arrangements.

Henry then bumps into Noah and Maddie. After a brief introduction, Noah left to go to the apartment. Henry told Maddie that he needed to talk to her. He told her that he could now afford to pay her tuition at Wesleyan. He didn't want her to give up on her dreams. Maddie told Henry that dreams change; she was registered for classes at Oakdale University and was going to have a job at WOAK. Henry asked her who she was trying to convince- him or herself. She asked him what was wrong, and questioned if he liked Noah. Henry told Maddie that Winston seems to have a problem with gay people. He told Maddie that Winston made it clear that he doesn't like Noah and Luke hanging out together. Maddie doesn't understand what the problem is, but Henry tells her that he suspects Winston thinks there is something going on between Noah and Luke. Maddie tells Henry that is ridiculous. Henry agrees and offers to help her and Noah in any way he can.

Back at WAOK, Maddie confronts Luke and asks him if there is something going on with him and Noah. He tells her that he can't answer her question. Maddie replies "You just did." Luke tries to apologize and explain why he didn't tell her, but a devastated Maddie backs away, saying that she needs to talk to Noah about it. Luke agrees that this is what she should do.

At Emma's, Meg tells Craig that she is ok with them living there, but Craig tells her that he isn't. He tells her that he can handle the lack of luxury at the farm, but he can't handle being a disappointment to her. Meg tells him everything is fine and for him to go shower while she does her chores. When Craig goes upstairs, she leaves.

At Fairwinds, the maid brings to Paul a framed photo of him and Meg. He asked her where she found it. She told him that is was in the guest room where Meg had been staying. A perplexed Paul asked her if that was where she always stayed- not with Craig, which the maid confirms. Meg then storms in and tells him that if he has a problem with her, he needs to leave Craig out of it. Paul asks if Craig sent her there to fight his battles. She told him again how sorry she was for hurting him, but that he isn't sorry at all for allowing her to think he was dead. Paul reminded her that she had moved on. Meg told him that she did so because she thought he was dead. She told him that HE was the one who had moved on- just like that. Meg told him that if he in fact loved Rosanna, why he couldn't leave her and Craig alone. He told Meg that he couldn't just let her and Craig live in Rosanna's house and spend her money. Meg asks Paul where Rosanna is. He tells her she was busy handling her affairs. She questioned how Paul could have fallen back in love with Rosanna so quickly, which he replied "... too sudden? That's quite an accusation from a woman who changes partners as often as you do." She tells him that he is trying to convince himself that he doesn't love her anymore, which he denies. She admits that she still loves him. "You're a married woman" he tells her. "What if I weren't, would that make a difference?" She asks. He asks her is she is thinking of leaving Craig. She asked him if that was what he wanted her to do. He told her it didn't matter, because she is married. He reminded her that Craig's last wife ended up in a coma for 2 years and that he doesn't want that to happen to her. Meg tells him that is proof that he still cares about her. Paul said this just makes him a decent guy- unlike Craig. She tells him that he never stopped loving her. She kisses him and he doesn't pull away.

At the farm, Craig is fiddling with his cell phone when he is interrupted by a gloating Lucinda who tells him that she won't be finished with him until she has her company back, which he scoffs at. She tells him that Rosanna will give her the company back just to spite him and that Meg is going to dump him now that he is broke. She tells him that when Rosanna gets her memory back, he will be going to jail. How painful it must be, she says when your wife and former wife are both in love with Paul. She asked him if he worries that Meg will run to Paul- especially with Rosanna being out of town. She asked him where Meg was. A rattled Craig throws her out.

On the phone with his attorney, Craig gets good news. He goes outside to call for Meg who he thinks is doing chores in the barn. He realizes that she is gone.

At the condo of the potential designing job, Carly is distracted and tired. Her prospective boss asks her if she has any ideas and questions if she really wants the job. Carly tells him that she didn't sleep well the night before and that she just needed a little time alone in the space. He asked her if she would have something for him by the end of the day, she said yes and he leaves. Carly, clearly weak takes some medication and sits down on the couch.

In Olde town while waiting for the realtor, Katie tells Jack that she loves his kids, but wants them to have their own child. Jack tells her that he is not sure about this. Katie tells him that they need to straighten this out before they get married. The realtor shows up, with a property for them to see- emphasizing to Katie how perfect it would be for the nursery that she had told her about and that a preschool would be opening in the building.

The realtor brings them to the property and tells them that it is in the midst of being redecorated. The condo is the same one that Carly is at! Jack and Katie tell the realtor that they want to look at it alone. The realtor leaves. Katie tries to tell Jack that maybe they shouldn't bother looking at the condo. In the living room, Carly who was resting on the couch awakens to hear their conversation.

Jack tells Katie that he is unsure because his kids are going through a big transition and having a new baby might make them feel left out. Katie tells him that once he has the baby in his arms he will feel differently. He tells Katie he isn't saying not ever; just not now. Katie then walks into the living room to see the listening Carly sitting there. She tries to explain why she is there but Katie wants to know why she didn't say something sooner. Carly denies intentionally eavesdropping. Carly assures them that she is no longer pursuing Jack, a man that no longer wants her, and she doesn't want them to think that's what she was doing. Carly told Katie that anyone could see that Jack loved her. Carly leaves. Jack tells Katie he believed that was Carly's attempt at being civil, but Katie isn't buying it. She thinks that Carly now has something over her; she has a child from him and Katie never will. She tells him that she needs to know that he will at least think about it. He tells her to give it a year. She questions that if in a year he doesn't change his mind, will she have to give up on her hopes of having his child.

At the Lakeview, Lily is looking for Dusty. She is leaving a frantic voicemail when Holden appears behind her. He tells her that he heard her leaving the message for Dusty and wants her to stay away from him and the murder investigation. He tells her if she keeps doing things behind his back they won't have a marriage anymore. Their conversation is interrupted by a phone call from Jack, and Holden has to go. Lily tells him that she would never do anything to deliberately hurt him or their family. He says he knows that. He leaves and Lily gets a phone call from the escort Krista who says that she has info about Cheri's murder and wants to meet in Olde Town.

In Olde Town Lily is dressed in her escort clothes to meet Krista who still doubts that she really knew Cheri. Lily tells her that she knows Cheri was married, had a child and that her name was Charlene Wilson. Krista confirms this and seems more trusting of her. She tells Lily that Cheri loved her son and that her husband had a bad temper and forced Cheri to leave her son. He told Cheri that if she ever tried to see her son again, he would make her regret it. Lily says she thinks Cheri's husband killed her, but Krista tells Lily she thinks Cheri's son did; because he was angry over her career choice. Lily gives Krista money, and tells her to call her if she gets more info.

Back at the Lakeview, Lily asks the desk clerk to have Dusty meet her in the lounge. Holden arrives and seeing Lily dressed in those clothes, wants to know why.

At Fairwinds, Meg is kissing Paul, but he pulls away. Meg tells him that he felt that kiss. He tells her he did feel something; pity for her being so desperate. Meg told him that he has feelings for her and that they still love each other. Paul tells her that the second she put Craig's ring on, whatever they had, died. Meg tells him that he needs to let go of his hate for Craig. He tells her to leave.

Paul throws the picture of him and Meg in the trash and angrily pours a drink. Rosanna arrives home with a surprise for him; she can walk again! She joyfully walks into his waiting arms and they embrace. They go to kiss, but Rosanna spots lipstick on Paul's collar. Paul tells her that Meg had been there, and that there wasn't much to tell, but Rosanna asked how the lipstick got there. He told her that she kissed him- as a ploy to get Paul to back off of Craig. He told her that the kiss meant nothing to Meg. Rosanna wanted to know if it meant anything to Paul. He told Rosanna that when Meg thought he was dead, she stayed married to Craig and he no longer loved her. Rosanna questioned whether or not she will remain married to Craig now that he was broke and that maybe she went there today because she wanted Paul back. Paul told Rosanna that he only wanted her. While they kiss Paul remembers his kiss with Meg. He ignores these thoughts and tells Rosanna that he can't believe she is there and how beautiful she is. She tells him she won't ever leave him again. He picks her up and takes her upstairs.

At Emma's Craig calls out for Meg, but she isn't there. JJ tells him that he saw her drive away a half hour ago. JJ tells Craig that he knows he doesn't like living there at the farm. Craig tells him that his lawyer came through with money, so he and Meg could move out. Meg arrives at the farm. Craig demands to know where she was. She tells him that she went to see Paul to get him to stop this vendetta against him. He asked what happened. Meg- remembering the kiss- told him that nothing had happened, that she had no effect on him whatsoever. Craig wanted to know everything that happened and he felt that she was holding something back. Meg tells Craig that Paul had changed since coming home with Rosanna. Craig pointed out that this wasn't the first time Paul became obsessive about revenge. Meg said that it had never before been directed at her. She said she now knows Paul's feelings for Rosanna are real. She told Craig that even though she rejected him, Craig never gave up on her. He told her that he tried to give up on her, but he can't and he never will. They kiss.

Craig gives Meg the good news that some of his assets have been unfrozen and that Rosanna and Paul won't keep them down. Meg told him that they will try, but Craig said that as long as he has her by his side, he can handle anything. He embraces her, but she looks uneasy.

In Olde Town, Jack tells Katie there is no guarantee he will change his mind about having a baby with her. He is worried about what his kids had just been through, especially with Carly. Katie tells him that it's always about Carly and she wants them have a baby so for once it won't be about Jack and Carly, but Jack and Katie. Jack tells her that it is HER that is making everything about Carly. He tells her that she wants to have his baby so she will be even with Carly. Katie tells him that she has wanted to have his child since they fell in love. He tells her that they need to just give it time and that it will all work out. She tells him that she fears she is giving up her dream, but Jack tells her to focus on their bridal shower and wedding. She agrees and leaves him to go shopping.

At Henry's diner, Jack meets Holden and tells him that he fears having his children's lives turned upside down by having a new baby. Holden points out that having a new baby might make his family feel more secure. He told Jack that having Ethan helped them all so much while Lily was in the Coma. Jack says he cherishes his memories of when Sage was born. Holden leaves, saying he had to go take care of something and that he felt Jack did too. Alone, Jack says to himself, "thank you".

At a clothing store in Olde Town, Carly picks out a black dress, but she remembers Jack's hurtful words and puts it back. In the dressing room mirror, Carly's image talks to her. It tells her that buying a new dress won't solve anything because Jack doesn't love her anymore. She tells her image that she isn't doing it for Jack, but for herself.

Katie shows up at the shop and finds a dress she likes, but doesn't have enough cash and leaves to go to the ATM. Carly comes out of the dressing room, sees the dress at the register and wants to buy it. The sales lady tells her that someone else is going to buy it, but Carly insists on trying the dress on. Katie comes back to see Carly wearing the dress. She asks her why she is wearing her dress; Carly tells her that she can have it. Katie asks her why she tries to take everything she has. She accuses Carly of intentionally eavesdropping, and now that she knows about her and Jack's disagreement over having a baby, she will try to stop the wedding. Carly asks her if she is insane. She tells Katie that she has been doing everything possible to steer clear of both of them. Carly tells Katie that if anything screws up the wedding, it won't be her and if Katie loses Jack, she will have no one to blame but herself. She leaves to change out of the dress.

Carly tosses the dress to Katie which results in her wish bracelet breaking off. Carly asks Katie if she was going to blame her for that too. A flustered Katie leaves. Carly then becomes dizzy and asks the saleslady for some water.

Outside the store, Katie tearfully remembers when Jack gave her the bracelet and thinks that her dreams of having a baby with Jack are over. Jack finds her there and tells her that he indeed does want to have a baby with her.

Jack leaves to get something from his car, while gone Katie notices a disoriented Carly standing nearby. She accuses her again of eavesdropping and gleefully tells her and Jack are going to have a baby after all. A weak Carly gives her congratulations. Jack comes back and notices that Carly isn't right and asks what is going on. Carly then faints. An unbelieving Katie rolls her eyes.

Wednesday, September 12, 2007

Jack runs to help Carly who has passed out and he asks her what happened. Carly claims she doesn't know what happened and as Jack helps her Brad comes upon the scene and also asks what happened. Katie explains that Carly fainted probably from a "lack of a better idea", but seemed fine earlier when she tried to buy the dress Katie wanted. Jack tells Carly he is patient, but that she is wearing him out. Carly apologizes and says she shouldn't have tried to "put one over him" to get his attention. Jack condemns Carly's actions and tells her she needs to deal with his marriage to Katie. After Jack's speech, Katie also rips into Carly and she apologizes again. When Katie and Jack leave to get ready for their shower, Brad questions what Carly is doing.

Brad questions Carly about what is going on and she tells him she doesn't want to talk about Jack and Katie. When Brad inquires after the design job, she tells him about that debacle as well. She explains how Katie and Jack were at the design site and how she is trying to give up the games, but no one believes it. Carly tells Brad to just leave her alone and Brad agrees. As Carly gets up to go she begins to pass out again, but Brad catches her and realizes she wasn't faking earlier. Brad follows Carly home and tries to convince her to go to the hospital. She tells him there is something wrong, but refuses to tell him what it is. Brad is relentless in his pursuit of knowing what is wrong, but all Carly will say is that her "heart is broken." Brad laughs off her broken heart remark and she pushes him out the door before she collapses again. Brad sees what has happened and pushes his way back in to call an ambulance, but Carly stops him by telling him she probably just has a bug from the kids and begs Brad to keep it to himself until she knows what is going on.

Susan shows up at Will and Gwen's house to check in on the two and at first, she is pleasantly surprised to find Alison there dropping off food for the two. Susan asks Gwen and Will about moving forward with the egg donor and reminds them about being patient in finding a donor. Susan is shocked to find out that Alison has volunteered to be their donor. Susan tells Alison that she can't be a donor now because emotionally she isn't prepared for what being a donor really means. Gwen tries to persuade Susan that everything will be alright, but Susan is reluctant to offer her approval and warns them all to think about it more before they go any further. When Susan leaves, Will offers Alison a chance to get out of being the donor. Alison convinces the two she won't back out, but asks that someday when the baby is old enough that they tell it the truth. They agree that the baby should know and that they will all move forward with their plan. Gwen and Alison head off to their jobs.

Sofie is working at the Lakeview with Aaron and is excited to feel her baby move. Aaron is shocked to learn that Sofie still hasn't told Cole that she is pregnant. Just then Cole arrives and asks Sofie for some money which she hands over and Cole leaves. Sofie goes back to work, but returns minutes later and tells Aaron she has decided to tell Cole that night about the baby. Gwen arrives at the Lakeview for work and goes into the bar to get some water and is comforted by Aaron. Gwen explains to Aaron that Alison has offered to help her and Will out and Aaron is surprised by Alison's offer. Aaron asks Sofie to watch the bar for a minute while he heads out to find Alison.

Lily waits to meet Dusty at the Lakeview, still in her best hooker disguise, but Holden catches Lily dressed provocatively and questions why she is dressed that way. Lily tries to convince Holden she dressed up for him as a surprise and Holden is happy about Lily's idea. Lily sees Dusty walk in and motions him away as Holden asks if a room at the Lakeview was also part of her surprise. The two go upstairs and make love. Afterwards they lie in bed and discuss how their marriage has gotten off track and resolve to work together to make things right. Holden goes to take a shower and Lily immediately reaches for her phone to call Dusty and tells him to meet her outside her room right now. Lily tells Dusty that Cheri's son may have been the person who killed her and gives him the names she learned earlier. Dusty thanks her for the information and tells her to get back to Holden. Back in the room, Holden explains to Lily that he appreciates all she has done, but he is still angry at Dusty even though he understands why she did what she did for him. Holden explains that he was so upset because Lily wasn't honest with him before and that things will be better is she will just be honest with him. Downstairs Dusty makes a call to friend to try to track down who Cheri's son might be.

Meanwhile, Alison has shown up at Al's to work at Katie and Jack's. Jack and Katie head off to the kitchen to check out the food just as Aaron arrives and asks to talk to Alison about her being a donor. Aaron tells her that he is proud of her and gives her a kiss on the cheek before he heads back to work. Jack and Katie greet their guests and are toasted by Holden who has arrived with Lily.

Cole arrives back at the Lakeview and tells Sofie he has just quit his job. He becomes angry when he demands that Sofie come home with him immediately and she says she can't. He pulls away as Sofie reaches after him and she falls to the ground as Aaron returns. He runs to her side to help her up and blurts out that Cole should be more careful with the woman carrying his baby. Sofie looks stunned by Aaron's words.

Thursday, September 13, 2007

After Aaron blurts out that Sofie's pregnant, she asks Aaron to let her and Cole talk. Cole wonders if the baby's really his and not Aaron's. Meanwhile, Alison asks Aaron if he'd like to go to a movie with her sometime and he accepts. After Cole's allegations, Sofie, in tears, runs into Aaron's arms. Iris is furious about Sofie's pregnancy, and gives Cole money to get Sofie to "fix" her situation. Brad's concerned that Carly didn't tell Jack she's sick. Carly says she's no longer trying to derail his wedding. Brad leaves, and Sage enters wanting to go to the wedding shower. Carly drives Sage to the party while trying to keep her throbbing head clear. A blinding light pulses in Carly's eye as she drives, she crashes the car. At the wedding shower, Brad is offended that Jack asked Holden to be his Best Man instead of him. Katie tells Jack that Brad's feelings are hurt and Jack makes peace with Brad. Jack and Katie play wedding games. Amid all the fun, a call comes in the Carly's been in an accident. Katie and Jack are suspicious until Brad tells them Sage was with her.

Noah runs into Maddie in Old Town asks why she's avoiding him; she says she wants to be alone tonight, and she leaves. Meanwhile, Lily arrives at the farm and finds Luke working on his writing. Noah shows up, and Luke introduces them; Lily can see the awkwardness between them, so when Noah says he needs to talk to Luke, she says she'll go outside for a while. Noah asks Luke what he said to Maddie, and Luke says he didn't say anything, but that Maddie came to him "knowing what you didn't want her to know," and he told her to talk to Noah herself. Noah tells Luke that he's not like him, and Luke agrees, saying he's happy with who he is. Noah leaves and finds Maddie at WOAK. He confronts her, and she tells him she's mad because he used her to get acceptance from his father. Maddie says she doesn't care if Noah is straight, or gay, or bisexual, or if he is attracted to Luke, but when she asks, "And you are, aren't you?" Noah finally replies, "Yes." She tells him that's okay, but the way he has treated her is not okay. He asks if she can forgive him and they can move on, because he cares for her and wants to get past this. Maddie says, "Because I mean that much to you?" Noah says yes, but Maddie replies, "Or I mean that much to your father?"

Back at the farm, Lily asks Luke what's wrong, and he tells her he basically outed Noah to Maddie. He doesn't think Lily really wants to talk about this, but she insists she's okay with it, so he tells her Noah's dad is strict military and won't be accepting if Noah comes out to him about being gay. He says even Noah doesn't want it to be true, and he tells his mom that while he's liked other guys before, this is the first time someone's felt that way about him.

Maddie goes to the diner, where she tells Henry that he was right about his suspicions about Noah and Luke, and she says she's broken up with Noah because of it and said some mean things to him to keep him from seeing how much she really cared about him. She tells Henry she apparently isn't meant to have someone to love and spend her life with, but Henry points out that her 2 previous relationships are not quite a "history." He tells her the missing ingredient with her in her relationships has been magic, saying she didn't have that with either Casey or Noah. He tells her that the right guy is out there somewhere.

Noah goes to the Lakeview to meet his dad for dinner; his dad assumes Maddie is simply late, but Noah says they've broken up. His dad insists that's not possible, saying they've just had a fight and that Noah needs to do whatever it takes to straighten it out with Maddie. Noah asks what if he can't change, but when his father asks him to repeat what he just said, Noah backpedals and asks what if he and Maddie can't change whatever's wrong between them. At that moment, Luke walks into the room, having gone to the Lakeview with his mom at her suggestion; he is alone because Lily has spotted an auditor she needs to talk to quickly. Noah's dad sees Noah looking at Luke, and he gets up, marches over to Luke, and warns him to stay away from his son, "or you will be dealing with me, and you will not like that!" The colonel leaves, and Luke approaches Noah to apologize, but Noah says, "Just leave me alone!" and walks out.

At the Lakeview, Dusty has a drink with Tom Hughes and discusses the police's failure to look for another suspect in Cheri's murder. Dusty says he has an alternative theory involving an abusive husband and a child, but Tom says he'll need evidence to get anyone to listen to such a theory, and he tells Dusty they should run it by the District Attorney. Dusty says he will after he has more evidence, and Tom cautions him to be careful not to do anything illegal at this point. When Dusty acts like he knows more than the cops, Tom leaves, telling him they have a word for people who think they're smarter than cops: convicts. Dusty calls his private investigator and arranges to meet him in his room. The private eye gives Dusty a folder, saying he found Charlene Wilson and that she had a domestic battery charge against her husband in 1988 in Fort Gordon, Georgia, and that there was an infant involved. Dusty looks for the husband's name and finds it in the file: Lieutenant Winston Mayer.

Jack arrives at the hospital and finds Carly, Sage, and the doctor, who is finishing up putting stitches in Sage's forehead. He assures Jack that Sage will be fine but says someone needs to wake her up every hour or so tonight in case she has a concussion. Jack asks Brad to please take Sage to the cafeteria to get some dessert since she missed the wedding shower; before leaving, Brad asks Carly how she's doing, something Jack didn't do, and she thanks him for asking. He leaves with Sage, and Jack asks Carly what happened. She says she doesn't really know, that she's been depressed and probably shouldn't have been driving, but Sage was concerned about how Carly would feel about her liking Katie, so she wanted to prove to Sage that she's okay with Sage loving Katie, too, by taking her to the wedding shower. Jack worries that Carly is not in control of herself anymore, that she's too depressed about him marrying Katie. Carly tells Jack she'd like to go home and rest and not discuss this anymore tonight because she has a headache; he says he'll take Sage home with him so Carly can rest, and she tells him not to try to pretend like he would have left Sage with her anyway. She tells him to go ahead and take Sage and apologize to Katie for her and tell the boys she's okay; Jack asks, "But are you really?" Sage and Brad come back, and Carly tells her she gets to go home with Jack tonight; Sage asks if she's really okay, and she says yes. Sage tells Jack the nurse needs some paperwork signed, so he and Sage leave. Brad stays, and the doctor comes in and tells Carly that some of the initial tests they ran have him concerned about her. He wants her to contact a neurologist in the morning, and he gives her the doctor's card, saying he doesn't think this is related to the accident. When the doctor asks if Carly's been having headaches or dizzy spells, Carly denies it; when Brad jumps in to tell the doctor the truth, Jack shows up, so Carly cuts him off in mid sentence. The doctor leaves, saying he'll be in his office if she wants to talk some more, and Jack wants to know what's wrong. Carly asks Brad to go get Sage so she can reassure her that she's okay and tells Jack the doctor just said her headache made her pass out but that it wouldn't happen again. Brad shakes his head but leaves, and Jack wants to know if Carly's lying to him. Carly says she just doesn't want Jack to tell Sage he thinks her mom is losing control. Sage and Brad return, and Carly gives Sage a goodbye hug after assuring her that she's okay. Brad asks why she didn't tell Jack that something's wrong with her, because she shouldn't have to go through this alone; Carly says she's not alone, that "God, in His wisdom, has given me you." Brad says he's useless, and she should still tell Jack, but Carly says she doesn't want to, because whenever she tells Jack, it will make whatever's wrong with her more real, and she's not ready for that yet. Brad drives Carly home and refuses to leave unless she calls Jack and tells him what's going on; she tells Brad not to blackmail her and threatens to call the cops. He tells her to put his number on her speed dial on her cell phone so she can call him if she needs him, and then he'll leave. She tosses the phone at him, and he enters his number, then pretends to leave but instead settles himself down in a chair on her porch.

At the diner, Katie finds out from Margo on the phone that Sage is going to be okay and that Carly doesn't know exactly what happened, but Margo mentions there were no skid marks indicating Carly had swerved or braked hard to avoid hitting something. Henry suggests Carly did this as a way to pull Jack back in, but Katie insists Carly wouldn't put Sage in jeopardy like that. Henry is impressed that Katie is being so generous with her thoughts, and Katie says she actually feels badly for Carly, who has lost so much. She ends up meeting Jack back at the farm, where Jack tells her that this is worse than being mad at Carly; now he's scared for her. Katie assures him they will get through this together.
