Holden's back in town, and he and Lily take Faith to Al's Diner, where they're met with more of the same surly attitude she's been giving Lily lately. Lily goes to the counter to order something, and Holden tries to get Faith to open up to him, but she insists she doesn't actually have a problem and isn't purging and using laxatives like they think she is. Her cell phone rings, and it's Parker, who tells her he's standing outside and suggests she make up a story so she can ditch her parents and go somewhere with him. She pretends the call is from a classmate with whom she's doing a science project, and she claims that because she's had to go to the psychologist appointments, she and the other girl need to make up some time on their science project or they'll both get an F on it. Holden agrees to let her go back to school to work on the project. Faith hangs up her phone and says she'll walk to school; Lily, who has come back to the table, says she'll drive her, but Faith resists, saying it's just a couple of blocks and questioning their trust in her. Holden and Lily agree she can walk to school, so she leaves and meets Parker outside. They head for Paul's cabin in the woods. After Faith leaves, Holden wonders what happened to make things so much worse for Faith between the time he left for his business trip and now, and Lily takes that as an indictment of her mothering skills. Holden assures her that's not what he meant, but he says he was talking to Lucinda about how maybe Lily's trying to do too much. Lily gets even more upset that he and her mother were discussing her job and her kids. Holden tries to calm her down and apologizes for making her feel he was accusing her of anything, then he says he has to go to the farm to check on things for Emma. Lily says she'll wait at Al's because she has a business meeting in 20 minutes. Later, the two women from the organic baby food project meet with her, and Lily suggests some advertising in alternative parenting magazines and on cable TV; they say that will take more money and ask if she'll need Lucinda's permission. Lily bristles at the very idea and opens her checkbook, asking how much they think they'll need.

Holden comes in, and Jack tells him that Parker skipped school again; he asks Holden where Faith is, and he says she's supposed to be at the science lab. Jack asks the person at school if the science lab is still open, but he's told that it's closed. Jack tells Holden, and he says he thinks they're together and visiting a "new friend" of Parker's. Paul has a vision of a bracelet hitting some rocks. He leaves the cabin for awhile, and while he's gone, Parker lets himself and Faith in, not knowing whether Paul's there or not. Faith gets spooked and decides to leave, but when she opens the door, Paul is standing there, about to come back in. He asks if they're having a meeting of the Oakdale Juvenile Delinquents Club, but they tell him they came to thank him for covering for them the other day. When he asks what their parents have done that's so horrible, they tell him their parents think they're crazy and won't leave them alone. He says parents aren't supposed to leave you alone, but that their parents are at least decent people, unlike his own father, whom he had to escape. When they ask how he "escaped," he tells them he used to look at paintings in art books, and he tells them about a particular painting called "The Sleeping Gypsy." Paul describes the Rousseau painting to them, saying there was a gypsy asleep in the desert with a powerful lion standing over him; Paul always thought the lion was there to protect the gypsy, so he used to tell himself that the lion would protect him, too, while he was a kid, and then when he got older, he thought of himself as that lion, protecting the people he loved. As they discuss how cool it would be to actually hang that painting over the fireplace at the cabin, Holden and Jack come in, with Jack demanding to know why the kids are with Paul.

She says she just can't, so he leaves, but she changes her mind and starts out the door to find him.
At home, Gwen realizes she's lost her wedding ring and freaks out about it, even though Will tries to assure her it's okay since it was just a gum ball machine ring in the first place. When she won't calm down, he tells her she didn't have it on when he saw her in the shower the night before, so it dawns on her that she must have lost it while she was digging a grave for Adam. Frantic, she tells Will she has to go find the ring; he offers to go with her, but she says she wants to go alone. She goes to Margo and Tom's and catches Maddie on her way out the door, telling her about the lost ring and asking for Maddie's help. Maddie doesn't want to go back there, but she ultimately agrees when Gwen points out that if anyone finds Adam, they will find her ring, too, which will link her to his death. Gwen grabs some of Margo's gardening tools, and they head for the woods. Once there, Gwen tells Maddie they need to dig around Adam's "grave" to look for the ring. As they dig, they uncover Adam's gloved hand, and Gwen screams.
At Will and Gwen's place, Casey gets Will to let him in, and he apologizes for all that's happened. Will wants to know if it was his idea or Adam's to set him up, and Casey tells him it was Adam who said he'd cover for Casey, but that if he'd known that he meant to frame Will, he wouldn't have let him do it. Casey says he almost told Gwen the truth, but Adam stopped him by saying Will would never go to jail for stealing his own money. He apologizes again and tells Will his dad says he could get 6 months to 10 years in jail for what he's done. Will tells Casey that he's never going to forget what Adam did to him and Gwen, and he says Gwen doesn't even want to say Adam's name anymore; Casey remarks that Maddie also seems particularly upset about Adam's involvement in the whole thing.
