When Carly visits Jack at the police station, she overhears a conversation between Jack and Nick. Nick insists that he should be the one to go undercover at the Galaxy Strip club, over Jack's objections that he is too young and experienced for this kind of operation. When Nick arrives at the Galaxy, the doorman immediately alerts the manager to keep an eye on Nick. Carly slips in the door without Nick noticing.

Jade Taylor, the girl who jumped into the path of Luke's car, is released from the hospital without any injuries. She asks Lily, Holden, and Luke to take her to the site of the accident to find her backpack. When they arrive, they find themselves at their own driveway, where Jade announces, "I am looking at my mother's face."

Casey warns Maddie that Nate is not as nice as she thinks he is, and he blurts out, "I care." Maddie responds by lashing out at Casey, comparing him unfavorably to Nate. Casey tells her that he will stay out of her business in the future.

Gwen calls the paramedics and reports Barbara's injury. When Jen and Dusty arrive at the door to check on Barbara, Will and Gwen hide. The paramedics tell Jen and Dusty that they had already received a call, and they all leave for the hospital. Will receives a call from Jen at the hospital, telling him about Barbara's accident, and asking him to come. Will tells his unconscious mother that he didn't mean to hurt her. As soon as he leaves, Barbara's mascara-laden eyelids pop open.

Maddie calls Henry over to ask him to get her out of the Hughes' house. When she confides in him about Casey, Henry tells her that moving is not possible and suggests that maybe Casey is jealous. As Maddie pleads with him to help her out, Casey listens from the doorway. Henry gets a phone call from Emily. Maddie is suspicious but Henry tells her it was a wrong number. When Casey is found eavesdropping, he and Maddie start arguing again. Henry suggests they learn to get along and leaves them fighting.

Inside the Snyder house, Jade tells Lily that she's Rose's daughter. When Lily doesn't believe her, she produces birth documents from the orphanage where she was raised which name Rose as her mother. Jade says when she found her adoption papers she went looking for Rose only to learn that she had been murdered. She came to the Snyder's so she could see her mother's face. She begs Lily not to call her adoptive parents who think she's backpacking with friends. Lily isn't convinced of her story, but offers her a room for the night. She and Holden decide they will find out if Jade is telling the truth in the morning.

Will continues to worry that Barbara might die and wants to go to the cops to tell them what happened. Gwen reassures him that everything will be alright and convinces him to keep quiet. Meanwhile, at Memorial, Barbara wakes up and tells Jennifer that she remembers what happened. Jennifer calls Will and tells him that their mother is awake and doing fine. She says Barbara knows what happened to her but is waiting for Hal to arrive so she can give an official statement. Will decides to go talk to her before she can talk to Hal to convince her that it was an accident. Not wanting to provoke Barbara, Gwen decides to wait for him on the rooftop.

When Margo arrives at the hospital instead of Hal, Barbara reluctantly gives her a statement. Will walks in just in time to hear Barbara accuse Gwen of breaking in to her apartment, stealing money and attacking her. He lashes out, insisting that he was the one who stole the money and pushed his mother. He tells Margo his side of the story and Margo isn't sure who to believe. She tells Will that he and Gwen need to meet her at the station in half an hour. Will confronts Barbara and tells her she won't get away with this. Jennifer questions whether or not Barbara is telling the truth and Barbara tells her she will see Gwen behind bars. Will goes back to Gwen and tells her what happened and says they need to leave. Meanwhile, while searching Barbara's suite, Margo finds Gwen's barrette on the floor. When she calls the station and learns that Will and Gwen never showed up to meet her, she has an APB put out on both of them.

At the strip club, Carly is watching Nick when she is approached by the manager who asks what she's doing in the club. She says she came about the waitress job and after looking her over, the manager tells her to get a uniform on – she can start right away. Meanwhile, Nick pays the manager to get into the back room poker games. Carly brings a tray of beers into the back room. Nick reacts badly when he sees her, but manages to cover it. He goes into the front room to tell Carly she has to leave. As he grabs her arm, Carly's bracelet falls on the floor. Carly tells Nick she took the job because she needs the money, not because Jack is trying to sabotage his undercover operation. In fact, Jack doesn't know she's working there. Nick orders Carly to leave so she doesn't blow his cover but Carly refuses, telling Nick that she'll expose him if he gets her fired or tells Jack. As Nick walks away he finds her bracelet on the floor. He puts it in his pocket and returns to the back room.

Jade asks Lily when she can meet her other cousins. Lily says she has a conference call to make first. Lily suggests Luke take Jade out to breakfast. When they leave, Lily calls the orphanage. She confirms that Rose had a daughter of mixed heritage. Lily says she doesn't care about the race of her sister's child.

Margo comes home and tells Casey and Maddie the police are looking for Gwen and Will. Margo tells them about the attack on Barbara and then leaves. Casey thinks its true, but Maddie isn't so sure. They begin to argue and Will starts complaining about all the things Gwen's done to him. The doorbell rings. It's Nate. Casey leaves the room and Maddie leaves with Nate.

Jack comes home and finds Carly's waitress uniform. She tells him she bought it at a yard sale, for role playing. Carly comes on to Jack, but he's not in the mood. Jack is preparing to go shower, when the doorbell rings. Carly answers the door to see Nick, and Jack appears behind her. He tells Nick to leave, but Nick says he thought after last night he'd be welcome. Realizing Jack doesn't know about Carly's new job, he covers by saying he told Carly news about the case. Jack leaves to take a shower. Nick tells Carly he has her bracelet. He doesn't give it to her, until she asks nicely. He leaves and Carly says she's changed the rules of the "game." Jack comes back down, kisses his wife and leaves to go to work with Nick.

On the roof, Gwen wakes to find Will still asleep. She takes Will's wallet to get money, but he wakes up. She tells him she's leaving him; because she doesn't want him to get hurt. He says she can only hurt him by leaving. She promises not to leave him. Gwen is hungry, but Will says they will stay put until dark. Nate and Maddie arrive and she looks for the Hugh's house. Nate is upset that she keeps talking about Casey. Nate leaves and Maddie goes after him. Gwen and Will start to talk as Maddie returns. They hide, but she knows someone is there. She starts to call 911, when Will steps out of hiding and tells her not to.

Jennifer brings Barbara home. Barbara asks Jennifer to hold a press conference. She wants Jen to tell Will, that Jen still loves him. Jennifer tells Barbara not to press charges against Will. Jennifer thinks he will never forgive Barbara. Barbara says it will be worth it if Gwen is out of Will's life.

Luke and Jade are at the coffee house. She tells him she left her parents because she felt different. He tells her how great Rose was, and that his mom still misses her. They go back to the Snyders'. Lily tells Jade she called the orphanage to confirm her story. Lily then hugs Jade.

Maddie discovers Gwen and Will and is about to give them up until a plea from Will and especially Gwen changes her mind. Maddie ends up helping the couple by taking them to Metro where Will disarms the alarm and they make themselves at home. Maddie rushes off to get them supplies but is stuck for an answer when she comes unexpectedly face-to-face with Casey. Determined to prove that Paul is alive, Emily and Henry reason that in order to find Paul, they must first find Meg and they go to Emma for answers. They are unaware, however, that Paul has returned to Oakdale, in disguise, to try to make things right with his family. But, he learns about the latest family crisis with Will and Barbara and is distraught. Meanwhile, after failing to get Barbara to change her mind about the charges against Gwen, Jennifer goes on air and begs for her brother to come back to her. When Paul sees Jennifer on TV, he is deeply moved and puts a new plan into action. Later, Jennifer brushes into a woman who has a sense about Paul and tells her that her grief about her brother is misguided. Carly is horrified to learn about Gwen's situation and wants to help her, but Jack convinces her there is nothing they can do. Later, Barbara arrives and attacks Carly, accusing her of hiding Gwen and Will and of ruining her husband's career. Overwhelmed with guilt for what she's done to Jack, a determined Carly then calls the strip club, promising to be in that night. Later, Jack is surprised and suspicious when he offers to stay home from work tonight to comfort her about Gwen and Carly adamantly says no.

Although Jack wants to take the night off and stay home with Carly, she talks him into going into work at his security job, saying she doesn't need him to babysit her to keep her from doing something wrong, like going to look for Gwen. (Jack tells Carly she's "like Lucy Ricardo on the edge!") After Jack leaves, Carly calls a neighbor to watch the kids, then heads to the strip club. Nick is already there, asking to get in on another poker game. Carly gets a call from the neighbor saying her son is ill, so Carly has to leave, but her car won't start. When she tells Nick, he offers to give her a ride, but she refuses, saying she wouldn't ride with him if he were the last person on earth. However, when she finds out it will take 30 minutes before a taxi can pick her up, Carly swallows her pride and asks Nick for the ride after all; he makes her apologize for her previous attitude before agreeing to take her home. When they arrive at her house, Nick asks her if she plans on going inside wearing all that makeup, and then he wipes off her lipstick for her. Jack opens the door suddenly and asks them what's going on.

At Java, Maddie has bought food and drinks for Gwen and Will. Casey tells her he wants to apologize to her for the way he acted about Nate; Maddie shrugs off his apology and tells Casey that she's on her way to have a picnic with Nate, but when Nate shows up unexpectedly, Casey realizes Maddie didn't actually have plans with him. Maddie covers by telling Nate it was a surprise, which confuses Nate, who thought Maddie didn't really want to see him again. Casey is amused by this turn of events, but Maddie brushes him off and then also asks Nate to leave after Casey has gone back into Java.

Gwen and Will are still in hiding, but Gwen tells Will she's happy just to be with him. They hear a noise, but then Maddie comes in with food and drinks and a game plan. Maddie later has a fantasy that's like a 1940s movie (like "Casablanca") in which she is helping Gwen and Will escape the country; as Gwen and Will leave, Margo arrives and tells Maddie she has to take her away. Then Casey comes in, telling Maddie he needs to tell her how he really feels about her, but as he says her name repeatedly, Maddie comes around from her fantasy to find Casey calling her name and asking her what's wrong.

At the Wagon Wheel Motel, Margo knocks on "Mr. Pollack's" door, saying she has a search warrant and wants to search his room. Paul lets her in, but in the darkness, she doesn't recognize him in his disguise. She shows him pictures of Will and Gwen and asks whether he has seen them, but he says he hasn't. As Margo leaves, Paul has a coughing attack, which Margo thinks sounds pretty severe. She asks him if he wants a ride to Memorial Hospital to see a doctor, but he declines. Margo tells the motel manager that Mr. Pollack sounds like a seriously ill man, then she gets a call from Maddie, and Paul overhears that it's about Gwen and Will and that Margo is going to meet Maddie at Java in 10 minutes. Margo goes to Java and asks Maddie what she's found, and Maddie tells her she was up on the rooftop where Gwen and Will like to go sometimes and found a bus schedule with several departure times circled, plus takeout food containers in the trash can. Margo thanks her and leaves. Casey tells Maddie he wants to know what's up, because Maddie had told him she was on Gwen's side, yet she seemed to be turning Gwen in. Maddie simply tells him she believes in doing the right thing.

Katie is talking to a wedding planner when Mike arrives and says the April wedding will have to wait because his brother Mark has an urgent need for Mike to consult with him on a big project in Latvia. A disappointed Katie tells him she is afraid they'll never get married, but Mike assures her this is just a 3-week trip. Katie wants to go with him, but Mike tries to talk her out of it, telling her she'd have to cancel her TV show obligations and that she wouldn't see him much in Latvia anyway, but ultimately, he leaves the decision up to her. As he gets up to get coffee, he accidentally knocks a figurine of a bride off the table, then tries to glue it back together. After that, he has to offer Katie more reassurances that their relationship is not jinxed. He also tells Katie that he has asked Nick to stay with her while he's in Latvia.

At Jennifer's apartment, Madame Nina Lacoste tells Jennifer it's not too late for her to make peace with Paul, but Dusty arrives and interrupts them before Jennifer can find out what that means. When Dusty leaves the room, Madame Lacoste gives Jennifer her card; Jennifer sees that it says Madame Lacoste is a psychic and asks her to leave, crumpling up the card. When Dusty asks what that was all about, Jennifer lies to him, but he knows she's lying. Later, Jennifer has a nightmare in which Paul comes to her apartment and asks her to forgive him; she tells him she'll try, but he says that's not good enough, takes out a gun, and shoots himself. She awakens and rushes over to find Madame Lacoste's card to call her. Dusty comes out and asks why she's so upset; she tells him she had a bad dream about Paul and asks him to go get her some aspirin because it's given her a headache. While he's out of the room, she calls Madame Lacoste and asks if she can come to her apartment. Madame Lacoste says she will come, hangs up the phone, and turns to Paul, saying, "She took the bait."
