Emily walks into her home to see Hal fastening a necklace around Barbara's neck. Instead of reacting angrily, Emily lovingly tells Hal that she has come back home where she belong. Barbara snarls in the background. Hal leaves to go talk to Daniel at Susan's house, and to pick up Emily's things from there. Emily takes the opportunity to lay down some rules for Barbara. Barbara is to dress herself, and Emily tells her, "You don't cook, you don't bake, and you don't show your face unless you are invited!" Then she dumps Barbara's pie into the trash. Barbara speaks politely to Emily, but evil thoughts echo inside her head. Hal returns and shares a tender reunion with Emily, as Barbara spies from the stairway.

Sierra finds Craig in the park and tells him that from now on she will take care of Lucy. Craig insists that Lucy's unhappiness was caused by Dusty, not him, but Sierra again tells Craig to stay away from Lucy - for good.

At Aaron's hospital bedside, Alison and Lucy discover that Aaron has no medical insurance. Upon hearing that, Lucy leaves abruptly.

At the police station, John Dixon visits Dusty and Dusty asks John to arrange for Dusty to pay Aaron's hospital bills. Lucy arrives just in time to hear them, and she asks Dusty how he could possibly pay such a large bill. She is interrupted by Tom Hughes, who tells Dusty that he is facing charges of conspiracy, fraud, illegal gaming, and aggravated battery (or manslaughter if Aaron doesn't survive). Tom tells Dusty that he is facing a 10-15 year jail sentence, at best. However, the district attorney is willing to drop all the charges against Dusty if he will testify against Dominic Ramsey. Dusty refuses, saying that he would be killed if he were to roll over on Dominic. As they escort Dusty from the room, he sees Lucy sorrowfully hugging Rafael Ortega. The sight of Lucy comforting Rafael makes Dusty send for Tom, ready to make a deal, on one condition. Dusty insists that he will testify only if all the charges against Rafael are dropped. Tom tells Rafael that he is free to go, thanks to Dusty.

Holden enters Aaron's hospital room, and he and Lucy see Aaron open his eyes, but he stares vacantly. Ben comes in to examine Aaron and finds that Aaron is not responsive. He orders a CT scan, "stat." While Aaron goes through tests, John Dixon anxiously reviews Aaron's chart and studies Ben's performance during Aaron's operation. Ben tells Holden, Alison, and John Dixon that Aaron has regressed - he is unresponsive to pain and his pupils are unequal. After he sees the test results, Ben frowns and mutters, "Damn!" He goes back to Holden and Alison and tells them that Aaron has developed a subdural hematoma and must go back into surgery right away. Holden takes John aside and tells him that he thinks that Ben is holding something back. John promises Holden to find out the truth. John meets Bob outside the hospital and tells him that he is afraid that Aaron's case might be a liability for the hospital. Lily does her best to comfort Holden.
