ATWT hires soap vet Mattson Soap veteran Robin Mattson (ex-Janet Green, AMC) will join the cast of As the World Turns next month. The short-term stint in Oakdale will mark a return to daytime television for the Emmy-nominated actress. Mattson will appear in the newly-created role of Cheri, who is described by a showsperson as "a woman who gives Emily a run for her money." |

ATWT recasts role of Dallas Daytime newcomer Kenneth Franklin joins the cast of As the World Turns, taking over the role of Dallas Griffin. The decision to recast the role means that Duane McLaughlin, the actor that created the role of Dallas, is out. |

ATWT brings back the original Craig Montgomery An As the World Turns spokesperson has confirmed a report made last week by soapcentral.com that the show has opted to recast the role of Craig Montgomery. Out is newcomer Jeffrey Meek and in is someone fans knew and loved in the role. But sorry, ATWT fans: it is not Emmy-nominated Hunt Block. |

Tamara Tunie ends 20-year run With ATWT Tamara Tunie (Jessica Griffin) has exited As the World Turns after a 20-year run with the CBS soap. The decision appears to be that of the actress - but don't feel too badly for Tunie. The actress already has several other gigs lined up. |

Roerig opts not to renew with ATWT Zach Roerig (Casey Hughes) has opted not to re-sign his contract with As the World Turns. The young star will exit the CBS soap later this year and focus his attention on projects outside of daytime television. |

Cady McClain returning to As the World Turns Cady McClain is returning to daytime television. While fans of both All My Children and As the World Turns have been speculating that the actress would return to their respective shows, it was quite obvious that McClain could return to only one show. And there was always the possibility that McClain would opt for a new role on an entirely different show. |

CBS soaps go online In a major online development, CBC has announced that it will begin broadcasting its entire daytime lineup via its corporate web site, CBS.com. The move will allow fans of its daytime lineup to watch episodes of The Young and the Restless, As the World Turns and Guiding Light from the comfort of their own personal computer. |
