James Kiberd (ex-Trevor, All My Children) will temporarily replace Emmy-nominated Benjamin Hendrickson as Hal Munson on As The World Turns.

According to a source, Hendrickson has had to take "an emergency leave of absence." Because of the sudden nature of Hendrickson's leave and the fact that his character is involved in a front burner storyline, the role had to be temporarily recast. A spokesperson for ATWT declined to comment on the reason for Hendrickson's leave

Kiberd will begin taping the week of June 25th and is currently committed to doing seven episodes. His first airdate will be July 16th. Hendrickson's last airdate is July 11th. There had been no announcement of a possible return date for Hendrickson.
