Aidan showed up at the hospital to ask Anita out. She politely refused, but he was persistent and she agreed. Bobby made a phone call to demand money in a blackmail scheme from whoever he saw shoot Ryan. He later watched Bobby and Anita meet in the boathouse with a sack of burgers and fries. She confessed it was her first date as a grownup. They made plans to see each other again but their kiss was interrupted by Bobby. A small tiff ensued and when Aidan and Anita left, Bobby dug around in the bushes looking for the money. Aidan walked up with the envelope of cash and Bobby tried to pretend it was from an investor and stormed off with it. Aidan and Anita didn't think it was legitimate, but didn't want to pry into Bobby's life.
David was delighted to tighten the ropes around Tad's wrists to keep him tied to the bed. Tad informed David that Jamie did not kill Paul and believed a DNA test would get rid of the kidnapping charges. David refused to go along and insisted Jamie and Babe go through with their plan. Tad was glad for Bianca finding out the truth, but hated the idea of Jamie and Babe being on the run the rest of their lives. David wanted to keep the truth about Ace away from JR and Tad disagreed. David said it wasn't his plan, but he was going to support Babe and Jamie. Tad was sarcastic and cynical about David's belief someday it would be safe for them to visit Pine Valley again. The maid came in and misunderstood the situation, telling Tad she refused to do a three-way. Tad accused David of only wanting to make up for lost years and be Babe's hero. Tad pontificated about parenting and how sometimes you have to be willing to have your kids hate you.
While JR was rockin' on stage, Babe found Bianca backstage and told her to go with Bess back to JR's hotel room. When JR saw Babe in the audience, he jumped off stage and followed her. He stopped to ask Bianca to stay with Bess. He chased Babe around the concert hall before losing her. Kendall asked Bianca what the plan was and JR returned, suggesting they all go back to the hotel.
Jamie was pleased that JR took the bait from Babe, but worried about the rest of the plan in JR's hotel room. She missed Ace/James and felt bad for what she did to Bianca.
Bianca changed a diaper while JR told Kendall about seeing Babe. JR asked for help and said Bianca was headed for prison for helping Babe kidnap Bess. She promised to help stop any kidnapping and to not leave Bianca's side. They toasted and Bianca was sad about her breakup with Lena. Babe called and told JR she needs money and asked him to meet her at a warehouse. JR left and Babe locked him in a room with Jamie, after taking his cell phone. They argued loudly.
Babe went to the hotel room and asked Kendall to leave them alone, promising she was not there to steal Bess. In the hallway, Kendall tried unsuccessfully to reach JR.
Bianca was surprised at Babe and tried to understand. Babe said she had something incredible to tell her. She said the little girl was not her baby and that it was Bianca's Miranda. Bianca was quiet.
In the Florida hotel room, Babe tells Bianca that Bess is really her daughter Miranda but to Babe's dismay, Bianca doesn't believe her. Bianca is convinced that Babe is only making the claim in order to hurt JR for taking cutting her out of Bess's life. Babe denies it and begins telling Bianca about the night Paul crashed the helicopter and decided to save his hide by claiming it was Bianca's baby who had died in the crash instead of Babe's when JR and Adam threatened him that nothing better have happened to the Chandler heir. It's all to no avail. Bianca simply can't believe that someone she trusted, loved and considered her best friend would keep such a thing from her. Each revelation Babe makes is met with stubborn disbelief on Bianca's part.
Babe chronicles all of the events over the past months hoping to convince Bianca of the truth. She tells her of waking up in the hospital looking for her son only to be told she had a daughter. She tells her about following Krystal one night to the crash site and discovering the truth about how Krystal made sure the DNA tests Tad insisted on conducting revealed that the baby who had survived the crash was Babe and JR's, not Bianca's. She discusses the christening when she referred to Bianca as Bess's mama, explaining that it was a twisted attempt to tell her the truth. She goes on to talk about her wedding to JR when she made the conscious choice to choose the man she loved over her best friend by not telling them all the truth about Bess. Then Babe tells her how one night, completely disillusioned after having found out that JR was not the man she thought he was and now faced with the knowledge that everything she did was for naught, she went to the chapel where she had commissioned a stained glass window for her son and prayed to God for guidance. That night she ended up in Llanview where she came face to face with her son for the first time. Bianca is shocked when she realizes the baby boy Babe is referring to is the kidnapped Buchanan baby and fears that Babe, in her grief over losing custody of Bess to JR, has gone over the deep end. Babe assures her that such is not the case. That she has DNA proof that he is indeed her son. Desperate now to get through to Bianca, Babe shows her the picture of the two of them with James and Miranda in the park. Bianca studies the picture, seeing the truth with her eyes that her mind has been unwilling to accept.
Standing over Miranda's playpen with Babe telling her that she's her baby, Bianca finally realizes that she's looking at her own daughter. The daughter she believed had perished in the helicopter crash.
At the warehouse, JR is furious to be locked in with Jamie. He is desperate to stop Babe from talking to Bianca and frustrated that they can't prevent her from telling Bianca that Bess is her daughter. He steadfastly insists to Jamie though that Bess is his daughter and that nothing, including Babe's claims to the contrary, will convince him otherwise. Jamie isn't impressed. He tries to get through to JR in the hopes of getting him to admit that given another chance, he would share custody of his child with Babe. It's to no avail. JR's animosity towards Babe remains as strong as ever. Realizing the futility in getting JR to do the decent thing with Babe and the custody of their child, he makes an attempt to point out how clinging to Bess knowing that she isn't his hurts Bianca but JR insists...Bess is his daughter. Jamie doesn't believe for a minute that JR truly thinks that Bess is his daughter. They argue back and forth until it escalates and becomes physical. In the end, nothing is accomplished. JR still insists that Bess is his daughter while Jamie realizes that nothing will ever convince JR to let Babe be a part of her child's life if JR has anything to do with it.
After finally accepting Babe's claims that Miranda is her daughter, Bianca responds violently by slapping Babe across her face. Bianca is furious. She tells Babe how she suffered with nightmares and privately struggled with heartache, sorrow and grief while believing that her daughter had died. She goes on to tell Babe about how she almost cut Kendall out of her life because of the passion with which she had despised Babe. Not understanding that degree of hatred, Bianca almost chose her "soul sister" over her own flesh and blood sister. Bianca reflects that she wishes she had listened to Kendall because she had been right all along. She ends with "I never hated anyone the way I hate you now." Babe listens with tear filled eyes and then tries to offer Bianca the opportunity to turn her into the police which would result in Babe losing her new found son but Bianca is unmoved by the gesture. Instead she dares Babe to cry her guilt to her face after the awful things she's done. They are interrupted by a knock at the door. In the hallway, Krystal tries to get Babe to leave with James before JR discovers them, claiming she has a bad feeling. Babe instead tells her to come inside with James which startles Krystal who isn't happy that Babe confessed all to Bianca including the fact that James is her son. Once in the hotel room, Bianca doesn't waste time mincing words. She immediately lets Krystal know that she hates her as well for the lies and deceits. She understands her motivation but she does not for a minute condone Krystal's actions. Krystal tries to defend Babe by claiming that she pressured Babe into keeping quiet about Miranda but Bianca couldn't care less. She accuses Babe of only coming clean because she no longer has any use for Miranda and that she refuses to give Babe the credit she craves for ripping her heart out and finally giving it back. She lets them know how much she despises both of them. They are interrupted when Babe receives a phone call on her cell phone from Jamie telling her that JR is freed from the warehouse on his way over. Babe tries to get Bianca to leave with Miranda but Bianca refuses. Babe reminds Bianca that JR has known the truth about Miranda since the letters and urges her not to let Miranda out of her sight then picks up the picture of her, Bianca and the children and leaves. Bianca, alone with Miranda for the first time since learning that she's her daughter, kneels down to eye level with Miranda and begins talking to her. She calls her "My sweet Miranda" then turns to find JR standing in the doorway, his expression unreadable. It's more a statement than a question when he says "Babe was here." Bianca confirms that she was and then begins to talk about seeing JR in a whole new light. For the first time Bianca understands what changed JR. She empathizes with him, realizing for the first time all the damage the lies and deceits that Babe inflicted. Unfortunately JR isn't receptive. He instead behaves coldly towards Bianca when she tells him that she knows the truth about Miranda. He accuses her of believing Babe's pack of lies. Bianca tries to reason with him but JR just turns ugly with her, accusing her of being crazy and suggesting that no one would believe her claims. He goes on to tell her that he refuses to believe that his beautiful child could be "the bastard spawn of a sicko rapist" then orders her to get the hell out of his room. Bianca isn't about to leave without her daughter and tells him as much. JR then bends down and picks up Miranda, intent on letting her know that he's not about to give her up. Bianca is just as determined. She demands that her give Miranda back to her vowing that she will not let anyone take her from her again.
Kendall finds the warehouse where JR is being kept against his will by Jamie. When JR hears her call out to him he lets her know he's inside before Jamie can stop him. Kendall opens the door and JR tries to escape only Jamie stops him. They end up throwing punches and struggling. Jamie is knocked to the ground at which point JR picks up a wrench and hits him over the head. Kendall stops him before he can administer a second blow to the now unconscious Jamie. Kendall is horrified at JR's behavior. She asks him what is wrong with him but JR has no excuse. Instead, when he learns that Babe is with Bianca he races out the door. Left behind with Jamie, Kendall tries to help him. He wakes up and grabs the cell phone from her before she can call an ambulance. He calls Babe to warn her that JR has escaped and is on his way to the hotel. He passes out shortly after the call which has Kendall dropping to her knees to help him. When she pulls her hand away from his head she finds blood. She attempts to rouse him from unconsciousness and is eventually successful. A short time later Babe arrives and calls David for help. Concerned for Bianca, Kendall leaves to return to the hotel room. While waiting for David, Babe tells Jamie about her meeting with Bianca and how Bianca hates her now. Jamie comforts her. When David arrives he diagnoses him with a mild concussion.
Tad causes a commotion while arguing with David causing a disturbance loud enough for someone to knock at the door demanding to know what is going on. David shoves a wad of tissues in Tad's mouth and leaves to do some damage control. When he returns, he discovers that Tad has freed one of his arms. He goes to the bed to secure him once more only to discover that Tad had actually freed himself entirely. They wrestle around until David cell phone rings. They stop and David answers it. It's Babe calling him for help with an injured Jamie. David leaves without telling Tad why but that doesn't stop Tad from following him. David runs into Krystal who is suppose to be keeping out of sight with James while Babe goes to get Jamie out of the warehouse. He asks her what she's doing out where anyone can spot them at which point she informs him that Babe told Bianca about James. David is not happy to hear the news. He tells her to go back to the motel and wait for them there while he goes and takes care of Babe.
Tad, following David, runs into Krystal who is now on her way to the motel. He seems to ignore the baby, instead blasting Krystal for being in on David's scheme to keep him tied up and a prisoner in the kids' motel room. When Krystal tries to bring James to his attention, Tad asks her if she's sick of it yet. Sick of using innocent children the way she has been. Krystal ignores the insult and instead introduces him to "Dixie's grandson. Thaddeus James Martin." Tad is touched but suspicious, sensing Krystal is trying to play him by using the baby to manipulate him into going along with her and David's plans. Krystal tells him that she isn't. That all they are trying to do is what Tad did when JR was a baby...namely keep him out of the Chandler clutches and Adam's unhealthy influence. She points out how Adam has affected JR despite how hard they all worked to prevent it from happening and asks him if he wants the same thing to happen to the baby. When Tad enters the warehouse Jamie tells him what happened with JR. He tells him that had it not been for Kendall, JR would not have stopped at just one blow to the head with the wrench. He also confides that he has never before seen the look JR's had in his eyes while they were in the warehouse. Jamie then asks Tad if he still thinks JR deserves to have a baby. Tad is clearly shaken by what transpired between his sons.
Erica shows up just as Kendall is headed upstairs (via elevator) to see Bianca. She asks Kendall to tell her what part, if any, she had in the dangerous levels of anti-psychotics that were found in Greenlee's system. Initially hurt by the accusation, Kendall reverts to her old ways of being sarcastic to protect herself. She asks if she gets any points for saving Greenlee from doing a swan dive off the roof of headquarters.
However, after Erica explains the situation back home some more, Kendall is honored to have Erica on her side. She realizes, through Erica's words, that things were worse than she had imagined. Because of the volatile relationship between Greenlee and herself, she has landed on the top of everyone's suspect list. Erica tells her that she has to be thorough, and asks her daughter to be honest with her. Now that they don't keep secrets from each other anymore, Erica wants to know if she did indeed have something to do with the drugging.
Erica tries to assuage her daughter by comparing the two to each other - and telling her that the reason she loves her daughter so much is because they are so much alike. Kendall isn't budging though - she's not admitting to anything. Instead, she says that one person who wouldn't be caught in such a predicament is Erica's other daughter. She calls the elevator and invites her mother to visit Bianca with her. As they step into the elevator, Erica says that a simple yes or no (in answer to her question) would suffice. Kendall quips that life is much too complicated for simple answers.
Jack and Ryan show up at the hospital and run into Maria in the waiting room. She asks them what kind of update they have, but sadly - there isn't much of one. They took the drugs found at David's cabin to a lab and had them checked: none of them matched the medications in Greenlee's system. Shortly thereafter, Jonathan joins them - and he also has little to report. He scoured Fusion, but found nothing stronger than aspirin.
Maria is disheartened by the news, but Ryan finds a ray of hope within. He believes that they have confirmed that Greenlee wasn't self-medicating. What he believes they need to focus on now is who drugged her, and why. Maria's expression doesn't change, which prompts Ryan to ask her what she's not telling him. Maria finally confesses that the doctors all believe that Greenlee's system should have flushed the drugs out by now, or the medications that they have given her to counteract the drugs already in her system should be working. However, Greenlee's delusions have not abated and the medical staff is confused as to the reasons behind it.
Maria informs the three of them that the medical staff is investigating the possibility that the anti-psychotics woke up a latent mental problem in Greenlee that had previously gone unnoticed. Ryan is not willing to accept that as an option - Greenlee wasn't crazy before she was drugged, and she won't stay that way. Maria, trying to calm him down, tells him that she wanted to inform him of where the staff was at with Greenlee's treatment and that they aren't giving up on her by any means.
Meanwhile, in her room, Greenlee sees a Specter of Death. Still believing that Ryan is dead, she tells Death that all she wants is for her husband to be alive - and she doesn't care what she has to do to make that happen.
Greenlee offers to let Death have his way with her, as long as she gets Ryan back. Pausing momentarily, she then tearily asks how Death could turn her down. She then has a revelation - Death wants an even trade: her life for Ryan's. She demands that Death suck the life out of her - so long as Ryan is spared.
Back in the waiting area, Ryan makes it clear that he is not going to give up trying to see Greenlee. His persistence finally puts a chip in the stone wall, and Maria agrees to talk to Dr. Ashborne. If she gets the okay, Ryan will be allowed to see his wife. She goes off for the consultation, and when she does, Jonathan announces that he can't sit around waiting for the doctors to make a decision. He believes they should be out on the street trying to find out who did what. Ryan notes that there is probably only one person on Jonathan's list - and Jonathan confirms it. He tells Ryan that Kendall is the most likely culprit. Ryan tries to convince him not to go after her, but Jonathan thinks Ryan still has a soft spot for Kendall.
Somewhat agreeing only with his eyes, Ryan simply reminds his little brother that subtlety is a good thing. Jonathan announces that as soon as Kendall gets back from Florida, he's going after her. Jack interrupts his tirade and asks that the witch hunt for Kendall be put on hold for a moment. The focus needs to be on Greenlee and getting her better.
While they wait for Maria's return, Jonathan offers to go fetch some coffee. When he leaves, Jack reminisces about the day that Greenlee went off to marry Ryan. He recounts how he tried to convince her that it was a bad idea and a sure road to heartache, because Ryan was in love with someone else. He tells Ryan that his daughter, in colorful language, told him that she and Ryan connected, and that they would protect each other and take care of each other. She went on to tell him that she believed that in time, they would grow to love each other. Jack tells Ryan that he was never so happy to be wrong in his life.
Just as he asks Jack to put that in writing, Maria returns. Memories aside, Ryan begs her to deliver good news. She tells him that Dr. Ashborne had some reservations - and that he believed Ryan's brand of shock therapy might very well send Greenlee away from sanity and over the edge. Luckily, Maria doesn't take no for and answer any better than Ryan. She told Dr. Ashborne that she completely supported and validated Ryan's feelings, and promised that she would take full responsibility if anything bad happened. As Ryan hugs her in thanks, she tells him that the one condition is that he take her with him on his visit. Willing to do anything, Ryan readily agrees. Jack asks Ryan to give his love to his daughter, and acknowledging that, Ryan and Maria take off for Greenlee's room.
Outside of Greenlee's room, Maria informs Ryan that there are things he needs to agree to before going in. She reminds him that their actions lie on a very unorthodox course, and things could go completely awry. She also reminds him that Greenlee's delusions are more real to her than anything she sees in front of her face, so they have to be careful. She tells him that he has to do what she says, when she says it - including leaving the room. Ryan, just wanting to do something to make his wife better, agrees to everything. They finally walk into the room, and Ryan and Greenlee just stare at each other.
In the warehouse, Tad tries to offer his help to Jamie and Babe - but Jamie thinks he has done enough already. Tad insists that he isn't just going to stand by and watch his son lose everything. He again tries to convince Jamie and Babe to stop running, and to tell JR that his son is alive. Jamie gets frustrated because Tad not only doesn't understand what they are doing - but he's not even trying. The decision has already been made, and there is no way to change those facts.
Babe thanks Tad for wanting to help, and says that both she and Jamie are grateful. However, she reminds him that the person who really needs him is Bianca. She tells him that she sent Kendall up to the room so that she could help Bianca, but she doesn't think they can provide enough of a front in the face of JR's anger. She tells him that JR is nowhere near ready to accept that Miranda isn't his and Tad needs to be there to help him let the baby go.
Tad tries one more time to convince them to change their minds. Jamie says that Tad is so afraid that things are going to blow up and they will get hurt - but the reality is that Tad is going to be the one to detonate the situation if he doesn't let them move along as planned. Babe urges Tad to go to Bianca - because JR is the one that needs saving. They want Tad to make sure that Bianca is okay. Everyone in the room has seen JR with "Bess" and they know that JR isn't going to give up the baby without a fight.
Tad finally acquiesces, and tells his son that he has grown up into the man his parents always wanted him to be. He goes on to tell him that even though he doesn't agree with him, he is proud of his son. Loving words are exchanged and Tad leaves to go do as asked. Once he does David, Babe and Jamie leave and head back to the hotel.
They finally get back to the hotel room, and Krystal, relieved, asks where they had been. Not wanting to relive it a second time, they summed up by saying that they needed to leave. They fill her in that Bianca knows the entire truth - including the part about JR's son being alive. They also tell her that they sent Tad to protect Bianca from JR - and that if Bianca hadn't already told JR about James, Tad would.
David and Jamie start packing everything up quickly while Babe and Krystal say a tearful goodbye. Babe tries to tell her mother that it won't be forever, but Krystal doesn't want her to make promises she can't keep. She doesn't want to get her hopes up that they will return soon because it will just break her heart if they don't.
David tries to rush them along, wanting them to get on the road, but Krystal asks for a minute. She turns to Jamie and says that she initially thought that Babe would end up with similar bad luck with men. However, Jamie has ended that unlucky streak, and Krystal is more than thankful. She trusts that Jamie will take care of both of her babies, and Jamie gives her his word. She also tells him that she has every faith that he will help Babe raise James to be a good man, as strong and as brave as Jamie has proven himself to be.
Before they leave, Babe asks if David wants to hold the baby because he hasn't had an opportunity to bond with him yet. At first, he says no, but Krystal tells him he should take the opportunity now while he has it. Babe stands close to her father, holding her son, and David lets words of adoration and love flow over his grandson. He assures James that he is overwhelmingly loved, as is evident by what everyone is willing to do for him. He places a kiss on James' forehead, and urges the new family to get on the road.
They finally conclude their teary goodbyes, and as Jamie, Babe and James get into the car, Krystal and David wave from the door of the hotel room.
In his hotel room, JR tries to take off with Miranda, but Bianca won't back down. She tells him that the only place he is going with her daughter is someplace where they can get a DNA test. JR insists that he doesn't need a test to know that the baby is his daughter. Bianca responds that a DNA test will prove once and for all that Paul Cramer took her baby from her the night of the flood, and gave it to JR. Not willing to back down either, JR starts to threaten her but he doesn't intimidate Bianca. She tells him that he is going to have to kill her before she allows her daughter to be taken from her again.
In her calm and soothing way, Bianca tries to convince JR to hand Miranda over. She tells him that they were both victims of Paul Cramer and Babe: Paul started the lie, and Babe kept it alive. But now, it's time to stop lying and make things right for everyone. Suddenly, the anger drains from JR's face and he calmly says that he agrees - maybe it is time to end "this." He puts the baby back in the crib and asks her for five minutes, because they are old friends, so that he can say all that he needs to say.
He lures Bianca out on to the balcony and starts spinning a sob story about all of the things he has lost in his life: his mother left, and never came back; the baby Dixie was carrying - his sister - is gone; and now Babe. He says that his reality has always been that he was Bess' daddy - from day one. To believe the words of a woman who has continuously lied to him, to think that the one good thing that happened to him is not his to hold, is inconceivable. He goes on to tell Bianca that he has a secret - he really did love Babe. He tells Bianca that Babe's smile made him forget all of the bad things going on, and reminded him of the wonderful future they had waiting for them. However, all of Babe's lies and transgressions stomped all over those dreams.
He suggests that they take the Chandler jet - which is waiting on the runway - back to Pine Valley and square everything away there. Just then, Bianca hears Babe's voice in her head, telling her that JR could still hurt her and to take her baby and get away from him. She appeared, until that moment, to be reeled in by everything JR said. On a dime, she essentially turns on him and asks if he even knows when he is lying.
JR is outraged that he poured his heart out to Bianca, only for her to turn around and call him a liar. She tells him that it is insane for him to expect her to get on a plane with her daughter for a DNA test when they can have one done in Florida. JR flips out and is done talking to her. He tells her that he is leaving with his daughter, and tries to keep Bianca out on the balcony. They struggle because Bianca will not let him leave with her daughter. He shoves her forcefully and she stumbles back toward the balcony. She hits it just so, and the wood gives way.
Unbeknownst to JR - who is staring at the place where Bianca was standing just a few moments earlier - Tad hears the arguing from where he was standing in the courtyard below. He starts to rush to the room, but stops when he sees Bianca tumble from the second story balcony and fall on to the grass below.
Outside the hotel room door, Kendall and Erica arrive on the floor and they also hear the argument. They bang on the door, screaming for Bianca, unaware of what happened to stop the fight.
Tad runs over to Bianca to check for vital signs, as JR watches in shock from the balcony above. Snapping back into action when he tunes into the yelling outside the door, he picks up Miranda, puts a blanket over her head and opens the door. Kendall and Erica rush in, unaware of the baby's true identity, and demand to know Bianca's whereabouts. He tells them that she fell, and that they need to call an ambulance. Stunned, Erica fumbles for her phone and calls 911. Kendall is freaking out and screams at JR, demanding answers. He takes off with Miranda in tow without giving Kendall what she needs.
JR shows up by Tad and Bianca, and asks if she is alive. Tad tells him that she is barely so. He asks JR what happened, and is told that nothing bad was supposed to happen. He asks again what JR did, but before he could get an answer, Kendall and Erica rush on to the scene.
The ambulance arrives, and because Erica and Kendall are too frazzled, Tad deals with the questions. He confirms that Bianca fell from the second floor, has not regained consciousness or moved in any way. He also tells them that none of the people on the scene have moved her either. Satisfied, the crew then immobilizes her, and gets ready to take her to the hospital.
As the ambulance prepares to leave, Erica starts to ask Tad about what happened. He tells her not to worry about that now, and to just accompany Kendall and Bianca to the hospital in the ambulance. He promises to follow behind them, and Erica does as instructed.
Tad then notices that JR is trying to sneak away with Miranda. Tad stops him by asking him where he is going. JR says that it's late and he wants to put the baby down. Tad, knowing his stepson well, asks if he plans to do that in his hotel room, or on the plane. Not waiting for an answer, Tad tells him that whatever plans he made have changed - because he will be staying with Tad.
Krystal wonders if she and David will end up in jail for their part in the whole baby fiasco. David tries to ease her fears by suggesting they run away together. He opens up completely, admitting that he wants her.
Ryan convinces Greenlee that he's alive but can't help but be disturbed by her condition. He brings her back to reality and quietly explains that medication was making her behave erratically. To show that he hopes she's on the road to recovery, he removes her restraints.
Aware of Jack's overwhelming concern for Greenlee, Lily and Reggie make plans to lighten his emotional load. They bring some of his personal things from home to the hospital so he would be more comfortable. They then raise his spirits with a comedy act!
