Liza explains to Adam that she loves him but doesn't know how to make their marriage work. Tad fills in a disappointed Ruth and Joe on why Jake left Pine Valley so abruptly and without a word of farewell to his family. Later, Mia drops by and asks the Martins if they've heard from her former fiancÚ. Boyd tells a startled Kendall how her mother's engagement to Chris has come to a stormy end. After a plumbing disaster at the loft soaks them both to the skin, Greenlee is left tongue-tied by her first sight of Carlos without his shirt. Tired of Joni's superior attitude, Reggie confronts her but Jackson intervenes. Liza warns Adam not to fight her for Colby, then is pleasantly surprised when he assures her he has no intention of pursuing sole custody. After Kendall stalks out, Simone advises Boyd to stop chasing an unavailable woman and cast his eye her way instead. Greenlee shares with Carlos one of her special memories of Leo. Kendall reassures Michael that Boyd is no competition for him at all. Carlos finally admits to Greenlee that he is the one who sent all those romantic emails.

Anna grows weary of David's obsessively over-protective behavior towards their infant daughter. Aidan brings Jackson a tape recording he made of Chris' meeting with Flanders. As Erica begins canceling her wedding arrangements, Chris arrives and demands an explanation for her decision. After spending the night with Michael, Kendall awakens gasping from a nightmare about her lover getting it on with her mother. Edmund and Mia have an awkward encounter with Maria and Maddie in the stables at Wildwind. Aidan suggests to a bristling Jackson that his hunger to bring Chris down is based on personal feelings rather than professional zeal. Upset about her father's friendship with Mia, Maddie appeals to Edmund to bring Maria back into the family fold instead. Chris and a tearful Erica kiss and make up. Later, Jackson walks into Erica's office just in time to see her accepting Chris' engagement ring once again.

Kendall is all aglow following an afternoon session of lovemaking with Michael. Later, Michael heads to Erica's office to deliver a curt message for Chris. An emotional Anna confides to Jackson how stressful new parenthood has been in recent days. As Maria crams for her first exam, Aidan drops by to offer some much needed moral support. Henry and Maggie's friendship continues to flourish and takes a turn for the romantic when the lab partners share a lingering kiss. Carlos suggests to Greenlee that she secretly wishes he was not the author of the emails because he's only a lowly handyman. Finally pulling back from Maggie's lips, Henry reminds her they should concentrate solely on their textbooks until after the chemistry test. A fuming Erica confronts Chris, who insists he has not been harassing Michael Cambias. Mia, Simone and Kendall are intrigued to walk in on a cozy moment between Carlos and Greenlee. Alarmed to see Henry freeze as their exam begins, Maggie surreptitiously offers him a look at her own answers. Jackson consults with Janelle about the best prognosis for little Leora. Certain Michael has been playing mind games, Erica icily advises him to leave Pine Valley.

Liza informs her sister that she and Adam are getting a divorce. Insulted by Michael's cutting remarks, Erica slaps him across the face. Kendall pushes her business partner to apologize to Carlos but Greenlee haughtily insists she meant every word she said. Erica promises Michael he'll have a war on his hands if he dares to make a move against Enchantment. Henry shakily admits to Maggie how he often freezes up during exams. Erica makes a surprise appearance at Fusion to give Kendall a friendly word of warning but her cautionary tale falls on deaf ears. Meanwhile, Lena fills Michael in on her employer's plan to use a "poison pill" strategy in a futile attempt to ward off a takeover. Liza explains to Mia how Tad's kiss made her realize she needed to simplify her life. Later, Adam and Liza steel themselves for the painful task of telling Colby that they're splitting up. Greenlee's mother returns to Pine Valley and quickly alienates her irritated daughter once again. Michael and Lena plot to use Kendall as a vehicle for getting to Boyd and his formula.

Liza informs an astonished Tad that she's divorcing Adam yet again. Meanwhile, Adam is saddened to overhear Colby asking a costumed performer at a birthday party if he can fix her broken family. Chris instructs his private investigator to hand over all the materials he gathered while tailing Erica. Jackson is flabbergasted when Erica entreats him to help her save her floundering engagement. At Fusion, Greenlee and Kendall trade horror stories about their crappy childhoods. Laurie promises to keep Adam informed if she hears from JR. Later, Joni tries to mend fences with her best friend by begging Laurie's forgiveness. Mary again urges an irked Greenlee to give up her silly little cosmetics company and to forget about her ridiculous crush on such an unsuitable man as Carlos. Laurie tells a disappointed Jamie they can't be anything more than friends because she still loves JR. Reggie watches in alarm as Luis accosts Joni and Maddie in the park. Kendall eyes Greenlee with new respect after witnessing her latest encounter with Mary.
