January 6 to 10, 1997
Laura and Phoebe plotted to get Brooke and Pierce back together. Skye changed the results of Dimitri and Maria's paternity test. Erica learned that she was pregnant, but she wanted to keep it a surprise until after she told Bianca. Janet and Pierce had a heart-to-heart and face-to-face talk. Amanda gave Janet a photo of herself to talk to when she felt lonely. Andy learned of the paternity test mix-up, and Maria told Edmund that she and Dimitri had slept together.
January 13 to 17, 1997
Tad feared that Dixie might turn Gloria off to him. Liza tried to put the moves on Adam. At a surprise baby shower for Maria, Erica broke the news of her pregnancy. Skye and Edmund shared a kiss but nothing more. Dimitri's car swerved off the road.
January 20 to 24, 1997
Liza tried to seduce Adam, to no avail, so he sent her on a business trip with Tad. Brooke and Pierce made plans for a date. Edmund agreed not to leave Wildwind, and told Dimitri that he and Maria would raise Maria's baby as their own. Tanner learned of Skye's involvement in the paternity test fraud and blackmailed her to help repay the money he had stolen from Holidays.
January 27 to 31, 1997
Tanner made Hayley uncomfortable during a flying lesson, and Hayley later revealed that she'd felt "sparks." Dimitri agreed to keep silent about his affair with Maria and to never admit that she was carrying his baby. Erica asked Dimitri to re-remarry her. Adam hired Jake to work at WRCW to see if he could get Liza to succumb to her desires. Erica told Skye that she was no longer a friend, and Skye vowed revenge. Amanda viewed a tape of Janet confessing her past crimes on The Cutting Edge, and traveled to the Marick mine shaft.

FEBRUARY 1997
February 3 to 7, 1997
Amanda viewed a tape of Janet confessing her past crimes and ran away from home. Skye was banned from Erica's wedding and cast off by Janet, then gave in to her cravings for alcohol. A drunk Skye wrote a note to Erica, telling her not to marry Dimitri because he had fathered Maria's child, and then showed up at the wedding to watch the fallout. Janet tracked down Amanda at the Marick mine, but both ended up prisoners of the well.
February 10 to 14, 1997
Skye never got a chance to tell Erica why she should not marry Dimitri. Erica lost her baby and then craved a pill to numb her pain. Edmund wanted to start over with Maria. Brooke and Pierce made love. Amanda and Janet were rescued from the well.
February 17 to 21, 1997
Isabella hinted to Mateo that Hayley might not be right for him. Dimitri left for Hungary to find a child to adopt. Trevor told Amanda that Janet was her real mother. Erica figured out that Maria was carrying Dimitri's baby.
February 24 to 28, 1997
Scott told Laura that he loved her. A Chandler dinner party turned out to be a disaster. Tanner and Hayley made a crash landing en route to Texas to see Mateo. Trevor offered to help Janet get back into Amanda's life. Erica got Edmund out of town so that she could confront Maria about her affair with Dimitri.

MARCH 1997
March 3 to 7, 1997
Liza and Jake shared a kiss, but Belinda was the one who would be dating Jake. Brooke learned that Pierce was suffering from flashbacks. Erica confronted Maria about her affair with Dimitri. The ensuing stress caused Maria to go into premature labor. Erica helped deliver the baby and then raced it to the hospital. On the way, her car spun out of control.
March 10 to 14, 1997
Hayley realized that something had happened between her and Tanner during their time in the cave. In his visions of his war days, Pierce determined that he was responsible for Christina's death. Everyone believed Maria's baby was dead, but Erica tracked the baby down and prepared to return her to Wildwind.
March 17 to 21, 1997
Tad and Gloria's relationship hit a pothole, while Adam gave Liza "bedroom privileges." Skye overheard Hayley tell an A.A. meeting that she might have slept with Tanner, and later Tanner confirmed Hayley's fear. Erica crashed a memorial service for Maria's child with stunning news. Erica then faked a trip to Russia to adopt a baby when the baby was really Maria's child.
March 24 to 28, 1997
Edmund and Maria enlisted help to find their baby. Erica made plans to leave town, but Opal insisted on tagging along. Hayley told Brooke that she remembered sleeping with Tanner in the cave. In a cliffhanger, the music began and all eyes turned to the back of the church. Instead of Hayley and Adam appearing, Erica entered. With a huge smile on her face and Sonja in her arms, Erica began her march down the aisle.
March 31 to April 4, 1997
Hayley had cold feet at the last minute and called off the wedding. Marian had dreams of being bludgeoned with a crowbar. Erica received a visit from Esther, a visit that struck terror in her.

APRIL 1997
April 7 to 11, 1997
Esther learned the truth about Erica's baby but agreed to keep quiet. Adam squashed a deal that would have seen Liza move to San Francisco. Marian wanted Ruth's help in keeping Jake and Liza apart. Erica held a book signing. Pierce proposed to Brooke in their new house as a mystery woman looked on. Jack learned that Erica had not adopted the baby from Russia.
April 14 to 18, 1997
Erica told Jack that she had not adopted the baby from Russia, and he agreed to keep her secret a secret. Adam was furious when he learned that Liza and Jake planned to become a couple. Earl began feeding information to Mateo about Tanner's shenanigans, for a price, but Earl was the one who ended up paying.
April 21 to 25, 1997
Tanner asked Skye for a large sum of money in order to keep her dirty deeds a secret. Pierce and Brooke announced their engagement. Diana said she was not sure if she wanted her manuscript published. Hayley underwent hypnosis to find out if Tanner had sexually assaulted her. Mateo began to wise up to Tanner's evil doings. Erica and Sonya were almost killed when Dimitri nearly mowed them down with his car.
April 28 to May 2, 1997
Mateo determined that Tanner had murdered Earl. Hayley accused Tanner of rape. Skye convinced Stuart to put up WRCW as collateral so she could pay off Tanner. Erica took Dimitri to court. Diana's true identity was revealed.

MAY 1997
May 5 to 9, 1997
Marian blasted Jake for trying to break up Adam and Liza. Erica moved to create a talk show to rival Tad's. Brooke refused to believe that Diana and Christina were the same person. Hayley accused Tanner of sexually assaulting her.
May 12 to 16, 1997
Joe tried to talk Jake into returning to Pine Valley. Mateo moved in on Tanner and Hayley's location. After a struggle, Tanner was shot and later died.
May 19 to 23, 1997
Dimitri celebrated acquiring WRCW. Amanda got the wrong idea about a hug between Janet and Trevor. Erica began to have nightmares about kidnapping Sonya. Janet and Jack went out on a date.
May 26 to 30, 1997
Erica blundered and called Maria and Edmund's child a "she." Hayley and Mateo were married. Adam lashed out at Dimitri for duping Stuart. Esther began to have second thoughts about making Maria believe that her daughter was dead.

JUNE 1997
June 2 to 6, 1997
Gloria agreed to help Dimitri when a model canceled an appeared on The Cutting Edge, and then he helped himself to a kiss from her. Bianca arrived back in town and almost immediately ended up in the hospital. Marian plotted to get Adam and Liza closer. Brooke allowed Pierce and Christina to grow closer. Liza had her sights set on owning WRCW.
June 9 to 13, 1997
Hayley and Mateo left on their honeymoon. Trevor showed signs of jealousy towards Jack's dating of Janet. Skye tried to arrange a date with Jake. Belinda and Liza looked for ways to scheme Dimitri out of owning WRCW. Adam planned on getting even with Liza and Dimitri. Erica decided that she had to give Sonya back to her parents.
June 16 to 20, 1997
Jamie disappeared while on a camping trip. Kevin got a full four-year scholarship to PVU but there was the potential for problems with his roommate. Laura decided that she could not have sex with Scott. Erica made her move to return Sonya to Maria. WRCW got a brand-new owner.
June 23 to 27, 1997
Brooke bordered on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Adam and Liza shared a spontaneous and passionate kiss at the Couple of the Year banquet. Erica finally returned Sonya to Maria.
June 30 to July 4, 1997
Trevor and Skye had a date, and Amanda tried everything in her power to thwart the romantic evening because she felt her daddy should be dating Janet. Dimitri took to The Cutting Edge to tell the public of Erica's kidnapping of Sonya. Jack reached the conclusion that he had to charge Erica with kidnapping.

JULY 1997
July 7 to 11, 1997
Amanda thwarted a date between Trevor and Skye with a hat full of glue. Laura was reunited with her mother's shawl, but was afraid to see a man who had more of her mom's stuff. Erica hid out in the attic at the Chandler Mansion with a little help from Adam. Liza told Jack where Erica was hiding. A regretful Jack watched as Erica was arrested.
July 14 to 18, 1997
Tad called off the wedding because Gloria couldn't dump Dimitri as a friend. A new intern named Ally had a humorous run-in with Joe. Erica was granted bail but had to live at Chandler Mansion under Adam's custody. Liza learned that she was pregnant. Janet and Trevor kissed.
July 21 to 25, 1997
A psychiatrist with questionable techniques blamed Kevin for Laurel Dillon's death. Gloria and Tad's troubles were patched up for the moment, and Dimitri offered to "help" his friend get back with her lover. Liza prepared to tell Adam that she was pregnant with his child.
July 28 to August 1, 1997
Erica's case went to trial, but Erica was more concerned with dressing to impress Jack. Janet and Trevor argued over their kiss, and Janet fled town to clear her mind. Liza spent the night at Tad's to avoid Adam. In the morning, Gloria found Liza in Tad's bed and thought the worst.

AUGUST 1997
August 4 to 8, 1997
A strange man, who somehow knew Laura, began following her around. The jury was about to render a verdict, but Erica suddenly decided to change her plea. A commuter plane carrying Edmund, Maria, Brooke, and Madeline crashed.
August 11 to 15, 1997
Brooke tried desperately to save Maria from the wreckage, but the plane fell over a cliff and into the ocean with Maria still inside. Joe underwent heart surgery. Kelsey learned of Kevin's "therapy." The town reacted in shock to the tragic aftermath of the plane crash.
August 18 to 22, 1997
When Laura neared telling her loved ones about her past, Jim felt the need to silence her. Skye told Edmund that she'd altered the paternity test results, but he didn't hear her. Gillian, a snooty European beauty, made her debut. Adam dared Liza to prove that she was carrying his child. Skye found her note of "confession" on the beach just a few yards from the crash site.
August 25 to 29, 1997
Allie saved Joe's life when she discovered he was having a reaction to one of his medications. Maria's memorial service was held. Edmund blamed Brooke for Maria's death. Jim and Laura came face-to-face-again. Julia returned, but for only one hour. Kevin and Kelsey kissed.

SEPTEMBER 1997
September 1 to 5, 1997
Gillian told Laura that she had kissed Scott. Brooke headed to Washington for answers on the plane crash. Skye talked Edmund into a getaway to the shore, unaware that a hurricane was approaching. Dimitri tapped into the hospital computer system and learned that Edmund was not 100%, leading him to pursue custody of Maddie. Kevin had dinner with his parents for the first time in many moons.
September 8 to 12, 1997
Gloria took time away to think about her relationships with Dimitri and Tad. Jack visited Erica in jail. Trevor and Janet got into another goofy argument. Mateo continued to poke around for information on the plane crash. Scott and Laura broke up. Kelsey thought that Kevin was in love with her.
September 15 to 19, 1997
Kevin told Kelsey that they could not pretend they had a relationship any longer. Erica was told that her visitation with Bianca was cut off until Bianca was of age. Miles Christopher made waves as the president of TransGlobal's parent company and as a potential boyfriend for Belinda. Brooke flipped out mid-air and was subsequently arrested. Adam tried to woo back Liza.
September 22 to 26, 1997
Dimitri took Edmund to court over custody of Maddie. Jim revealed that Laura was the cause of the fire that had killed her mother. Miles and Belinda got cozy -- but not too cozy. Liza recorded Brooke's meltdown at WRCW for broadcast. Stuart and Esther got closer. Adam and Liza patched up their differences, thanks to a little help from Stuart. Laura's nude pictures showed up on the Internet -- and in Gillian's hands.
September 29 to October 3, 1997
From her jail cell, Erica plotted to get Gloria to give Maddie back to Edmund. Laura and Scott patched things up, but Gillian had other plans for them. Judith left town for six months without telling Kevin. Jason wanted Kevin to visit him in jail. Tim fervently opposed Trevor's decision to date Janet. Brooke was finally able to come to terms with her feelings of guilt over the crash of Flight 149. Miles grounded all TransGlobal flights. An employee blamed Adam for TransGlobal's problems, and later Adam felt he was responsible for the deaths on Flight 149. As he battled his conscience, he learned that Liza was aboard a TransGlobal flight that had to make an emergency landing.

OCTOBER 1997
October 6 to 10, 1997
Bianca was diagnosed with anorexia. Liza suffered a miscarriage. Erica planned to sue for joint custody of Bianca. Matt and Hayley schemed to allow Edmund to see Maddie. Tim and Janet sparred over her relationship with Trevor. Laura learned that her photos were on the Internet. Gillian planned to help Erica escape from jail.
October 13 to 17, 1997
Laura freaked out when she learned that her photos were on the Internet, and a surprise party Brooke planned to fete Laura's Person of the Week status didn't help matters. Erica took to live television to help soothe Bianca's nerves, even though Erica was terrified that the doctors had diagnosed Bianca as anorexic. Dimitri caught Edmund visiting with Maddie and got a restraining order against his brother. He later got some startling news from Maddie's blood work. Brooke received a ransom letter announcing that Laura had been kidnapped.
October 20 to 24, 1997
Jim "saved" Laura from her kidnapper, but it was later revealed that Jim had been in on the kidnapping. Adam tried to settle the TransGlobal situation. He later thought he was in the clear when a buyer took over the airline's parent company -- but he was wrong. Fowler admitted to Dimitri that Skye had altered his paternity test results.
October 27 to 31, 1997
Brooke vowed to use all of her resources to find the man who had taken Laura's pictures. Bianca was released from the hospital but was still wary of food. Dimitri threatened to kill Skye if she even thought about telling Edmund that Maddie was his child. Janet got a spooky Halloween surprise. From behind bars, Erica figured out that Maddie was really Edmund's baby.

NOVEMBER 1997
November 3 to 7, 1997
Ricky returned to town and asked Jim for more money. Brooke and Jim grew closer, with Brooke becoming dangerously dependent on Jim. Erica unraveled the truth and told Edmund that he was really Maddie's father. Skye confessed to Edmund that she had switched the paternity results. Mateo got on The Cutting Edge and revealed that Adam was behind the problems at TransGlobal.
November 10 to 14, 1997
Jake and Allie battled each other in the triathlon and ended up sharing a kiss. Adam tried to explain himself to Liza, but nothing he said convinced her that he wasn't responsible for TransGlobal's accidents. Edmund and Jack prepared to act on the news that Maddie was not Dimitri's daughter, but Dimitri fled the country before he could be served with papers. Tad and Edmund traveled to Budapest to find Dimitri, but they found unexpected roadblocks in their way.
November 17 to 21, 1997
Jim told Ricky that he only wanted Brooke's money as Brooke distanced herself from him. Liza refused to go back to Adam. The triathlon ended in a tie. Tim stole Janet's car, and Trevor decided to have him arrested, causing Tim to plot revenge against Janet. Edmund and Tad were locked up in the wine cellar at Vazdel, but Edmund escaped and convinced Gloria to go to a local hospital and check out Maddie and Dimitri's blood types.
November 24 to 28, 1997
After months of pain, Edmund was finally reunited with his daughter. Erica's petition for parole was denied, and she spent Thanksgiving in lockup. She was, however, allowed to have a holiday dinner with her friends and family, and coaxed Bianca into eating real food. A man from Allie's past crashed her holiday meal at the Martins'. Tim locked himself in a meat locker and decided to put the blame on Janet so that she'd be thrown in jail.

DECEMBER 1997
December 1 to 5, 1997
Jim threatened to break off his fling with Brooke. Gillian learned that her father had lost everything they had on gambling debts. Erica planned on paying off the prison guards to escape, but Jack talked her out of it. Tim accused Janet of locking him in the meat locker and she took a polygraph test to prove her innocence.
December 8 to 12, 1997
Ricky overdosed on heroin and died. Brooke opened up and told Jim that he was the only man she wanted in her life. Erica got a harebrained idea to have a hooker take her place in jail. Janet told Amanda that her dream of a happy family would never come true. Adam suffered a mini-stroke... or did he?
December 15 to 19, 1997
Jim plotted to get Laura to leave Pine Valley so that she'd offer no interference in his relationship with Brooke. Erica realized that she could not escape from jail. Mateo realized that Adam was faking his illness and arranged a situation to prove it. It worked, and Liza and Hayley turned their backs on Adam. Later, Adam had another attack -- but was this one real? Tim confessed that Janet did not lock him up and then ran away in shame. Trevor told Janet that he loved her.
December 22 to 26, 1997
Tad, Edmund, and Gillian devised a plan to expose Dimitri as a kidnapper. Gloria learned that she was not pregnant. Mateo exposed Adam and his fake illness. After crying wolf so many times, no one believed Adam when he later suffered a real mini-stroke. Trevor proposed to Janet, but she turned him down as part of a promise to Natalie. Tim ran away from home and two thugs mugged him. A woman, who he believed to be his mother, saved his life. Erica was granted parole and returned home just in time for Christmas.
December 29, 1997 to January 2, 1998
Adam rejoiced that new evidence had turned up in the investigation into Flight 149's crash. Janet turned down another proposal from Trevor. Dimitri figured out that Gillian was his mysterious blackmailer. Brooke found a suitcase in Jim's closet that matched the one said to have carried plastic explosives on Flight 149. The Crystal Ball began with a night of magic -- literally.
