All My Children alum Mark Consuelos (Mateo Santos) dishes on the upcoming reboot of the beloved soap opera, which is currently being called Pine Valley.

Today's episode of The Talk was can't-miss entertainment for All My Children fans. Mark Consuelos, who played Mateo Santos on the ABC soap opera, made an appearance and chatted about Pine Valley, the upcoming AMC primetime reboot that he's working on with his wife, Kelly Ripa (Hayley Santos).

"Man, you know, All My Children was such a big part of my life and my wife's life, and you know, I met my wife there, obviously, had kids, and became a young man on that show," he said. "We got the opportunity to reboot the primetime version; the idea was brought to us, and we're so excited."

He continued to reveal that of all the things that he and Ripa have ever announced, "this is one of the most, the biggest responses we've gotten from our fans. They're so excited. It's been a big piece of TV that's been missing for such a long time, and we're going to bring it back and I'm excited about it."

Unfortunately, Consuelos remained mum about storyline specifics and who fans will see when the AMC revival sees the light of day.

"I think those decisions are way above my pay scale, but I know they're going to bring back some fan favorites, and it will take place in Pine Valley," he said. "I'm really, really excited."

As Soap Central previously revealed, the AMC reboot starts when "a young journalist with a secret agenda comes to expose the dark and murderous history of a town named Pine Valley only to become entangled in a feud between the Kane and Santos families."

Ripa and Consuelos will be joined at the helm by filmmaker Andrew Stearn and Robert Nixon, the son of late AMC creator Agnes Nixon.
