Soap opera alum Eva LaRue (ex-Celeste Rosales, The Young and the Restless; ex-Maria Santos, All My Children) opens up about finding love in her new TV series and if romance is something she's thinking of in her real life.

Anyone looking for love during the coronavirus quarantine probably didn't have a ton of luck. But anyone looking to see soap opera alum Eva LaRue (ex-Celeste Rosales, The Young and the Restless; ex-Maria Santos, All My Children) on television during the coronavirus quarantine probably had lots of luck. The actress starred in the Pure Flix limited series Finding Love in Quarantine, which is now available for streaming.

The short-form series, which debuted earlier this summer, tells the story of Rick (David A.R. White), who, during a shocking medical crisis, tries to manage a household and homeschool mayhem, all while reconnecting with his young daughter, Gracie (Ocean White). The result finds Rick seeking sanity -- which quickly leads to possible love.

LaRue plays the role of Amber Russell in five of the eight episodes that also feature Stacey Dash, Tom Arnold, Lee Majors, Alex Watson, Gregg Binkley, and Grace Delaney.

"I had worked with Pure Flix on a [2015] movie, Dancer and the Dame," LaRue tells Closer Weekly of how she became involved. "[The filmmakers] asked, 'Would you be interested in this little short-form series? We're going to shoot it literally like you're in quarantine! [Pure Flix co-founder] David White and his daughter, Ocean, are going to film from their house, and we'll do your side with Stacey Dash -- you two will be the only ones working together. We had our COVID tests, and a minimal crew, so it worked out great!"

Fans will have to tune in to Finding Love in Quarantine, which is available now on Pure Flix, to see if Rick and Amber will be successful in their hunt for a romantic connection. As for LaRue, she says that finding love in her own life will have to wait, as she is still dealing with the March 2020 death of John Callahan (ex-Edmund, Grey, AMC), her ex-husband and father to her daughter, Kaya.

"Right now it hasn't been a priority, [and it won't be] until I figure out if Kaya's going away to college," she says of her romantic life. "With all that's going on, we're being trained to accept things. Instead of freaking out, it's, 'Just give us the task and we'll get back to you.' It's kind of good."

She continues, "[John's passing] has been a roller coaster. Losing a co-parent and somebody who's been a great friend for your entire adult life. He was still on my emergency contact lists and always wanted to know my travel plans. He'd check in when I landed and got back home again [to see if ] I was safe. Nobody else was caring on that level. I will miss that forever."
