Touching memories shared at Agnes Nixon's funeral service

Agnes Nixon's friends, family, and loved ones gathered for her funeral service over the weekend.

This weekend, funeral services were held for All My Children and One Life to Live creator Agnes Nixon, who passed away at the age of 93 on Wednesday, September 28, from pneumonia resulting from Parkinson's disease.

Friends, family, and loved ones who attended the service and also gathered together following the emotional ceremony shared some touching moments and memories of the iconic daytime trailblazer via social media.

Former One Life to Live head writer Ron Carlivati posted the program from Nixon's funeral service that included photos of the legendary soap opera creator and also the most famous verse from her All My Children bible: "The great and the least, the weak and the strong, the rich and the poor, in joy and sorrow, in triumph and tragedy, you are all my children."

Carlivati captioned his post, "Celebrating the life of Agnes Nixon today and wanted to share this with all her children."

Soap Central's Dan J Kroll was in attendance and shared some of the more poignant moments with fans on his social media accounts. "Agnes Nixon asked that we honor her memory simply by being kind to each other," Kroll wrote. He also noted that the church erupted into laughter when Nixon's son Bob started to read a passage from "the bible" -- and quickly turned to the pastor to explain that he was reading from the All My Children bible, not the Bible.

What an incredible woman with an amazing life. Agnes Nixon asked that we honor her memory simply by being kind. #allmychildren #onelifetolive #loving #RIP #phenomenalwoman

Also in attendance were former AMC stars Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane) and Kim Delaney (ex-Jenny Gardner), who both posted photos from the funeral/reunion that included Darnell Williams (Jesse Hubbard), Francesca James (ex-Kitty/Kelly and former executive producer of AMC), Ginger Smith (AMC's former supervising producer and executive producer), Carole Shure (former AMC producer), Lorraine Broderick (former AMC head writer), Randi Subarsky (former AMC coordinating producer), Rusty Swoop (former member of AMC's production team), and Nixon's great-granddaughter, Fay.
