All My Children vets Alexa Havins and Justin Bruening won't be returning to Pine Valley anytime soon, but that's good news for their fans. The real-life couple is keeping busy with roles in primetime television.
Marriage certainly has its adventures, and All My Children alums,
Alexa Havins (ex-
Babe Carey) and
Justin Bruening (ex-
Jamie Martin), will soon be saving the world and romancing super heroes - or at least some of their new primetime characters will be. While Havins hunts down extraterrestrials for BBC's long-awaited
Torchwood: Miracle Day, her husband, Justin Bruening, will be romancing Diana Themyscira in NBC's revival of
Wonder Woman. For these real-life spouses, confronting on-set villains and unraveling supernatural mysteries might become second nature.
Alexa Havins joins the
Torchwood cast as Esther Drummond, a CIA employee who dreams of active duty and suddenly finds herself on Captain Jack's team as it ventures to Los Angeles to investigate the global non-aging crisis. Though Havins is best known for her role as Babe Carey, a role she played from 2003
to 2007 on All My Children and briefly on One Life to Live during that same time period, she recently branched out to primetime, playing Danielle on an episode of
Grey's Anatomy.
Hubby Justin Bruening has plenty to do while his wife tackles
Torchwood. Bruening is headed to the Wonder Woman set in L.A. to portray the dashing Steve Trevor, an army vet working for the Justice Department. Bruening fans can also see him on ABC's
Castle in an episode entitled "The Dead Pool." The former
Knight Rider star will appear as Rob Tredwyck, an Olympic hopeful found dead in a training pool. According to
ABC Soaps In Depth, Bruening has also been cast as Lucas in the new NBC summer series,
Friends With Benefits.
The Starz Network finalized negotiations to air
Torchwood's fourth season, which is set to premiere July 8. NBC's
Wonder Woman will debut in the fall, and Bruening's episode of
Castle airs April 11. NBC's Friends With Benefits
, however, has no set airdate.
