Debbi Morgan taking leave from AMC

Though her character is involved in a big storyline, actress Debbi Morgan will be stepping away from All My Children. The actress is taking a leave of absence for an undisclosed period of time. Morgan debuted as AMC's Angie in 1982.

All My Children viewers have noticed in recent weeks that Emmy winner Debbi Morgan (Angie Hubbard) has seen diminishing on-screen airtime. It seems odd, considering that the actress is involved in a key, frontburner storyline.

Now, an AMC spokesperson explains that Morgan will be taking some time away from Pine Valley.

"Debbi Morgan will be taking some time off to attend to a personal matter," a show spokesperson stated.

It is unclear at this time how long Morgan will be absent from the action.

"We will announce her return date once the information becomes available," the spokesperson adds.

Show sources, meanwhile, tell Soap Central that Morgan will return to the canvas in the new year -- and that the show will pick up with Angie's's two big storylines -- her blindness and her pregnancy.

Morgan made her first All My Children appearance in 1982. She left All My Children in 1990, but continued on as her Pine Valley alter ego from 1993 to 1995 on Loving, and from 1995 to 1997 on The City. She returned full-time to AMC in January 2008.
