Brianne Moncrief joins web series Gotham

Brianne Moncrief is the latest "former" daytime star to sign on to a web-based drama series. Moncrief has joined the cast of Gotham, and will find herself in very good company.

Mourn not for Brianne Moncrief's (ex-Colby Chandler) ouster from All My Children. The young actress has been signed to her first post-AMC gig. Moncrief has joined the cast of the web series, Gotham.

Gotham is the creation of two-time Emmy winner Martha Byrne (ex-Lily Snyder, As the World Turns; ex-Andrea Floyd, General Hospital) and features a host of daytime veterans in its cast. Moncrief has been tapped to play the role of Samantha, a sexy, young secretary.

In addition to Byrne, who stars in the series, Gotham also features Maeve Kinkead (ex-Vanessa Reardon, Guiding Light), Michael Park (Jack Snyder, As the World Turns), Anne Sayre (ex-Mitzi Matters, As the World Turns), and Kin Shriner (ex-Scott Baldwin, General Hospital). Soap vet Lisa Brown serves as director for the series.

Moncrief joined All My Children on May 7, 2008, assuming the role from Ambyr Childers. She last aired on November 12. Last week, newcomer Natalie Hall took over as Colby.
